Two Peas Celebrity!!!

Well, look who's back!!!
Wow! Apparently, summer took me away from my blog.

I have missed it so much! We have had lots of life stuff going on this summer.
Plenty of changes that have been oober overwhelming.
So much so that I haven't been able to create or post very much.
I've sewn a little but that's about it.
Now we are in the middle of moving. So that brings on a whole new set of responsibilities.
Boxes, going thru old accumulated stuff, boxes and making choices on  storing some things that we won't use for a bit, and more boxes, and boxes. Ugh!!

In the meantime, my sis has been creating like a madwoman.
Well, she moved recently too, so her's was on hold just a bit too, so I don't feel so guilty.

Look who got on the Two Peas list for
MOST BOOKMARKED AND MOST LIKED...
My sister, Sheri!!!

One of her most recent layouts was featured on Two Peas as the most bookmarked and most liked for today.WHOOHOO to my sis!!! I know a celebrity!!!
If you are not familiar with Two Peas, they are a major scrapbooking site that sells product, gives classes and has a gallery to post your items.  From there readers vote on layouts and are a part of their online community. A great community for scrapbookers.

You can look and see why it was bookmarked and liked so much.
The color is amazing and it all flows so great!
The best part of the layout is the picture in my opinion.
That little girl is my creation, that is our Brooklin.
So I underestimated myself, I have been creating.
Just happens to be children, with a little help, of course.  :)
Sorry, couldn't resist that one....back to scrapping....
The web page is listed below but you can see more detail and the comments listed if you click on the link above.

Congrats to my big sis!! She always inspires me.
Not just her creativeness but in just regular old life too.
Want to get to know her more....check out her blog here.
Uber deliciousness of creativity!!!
Leave her a comment, she loves it! Don't tell her I said that!! shhh!!

Love ya Sis!!
You are one amazing scrapper and sister!!
I'm super lucky to have you as my older sister.
Congrats!!!

Scrap Tiffany Sports Challenge

This weeks challenge with Tiffany is "Sports".
This could be anything...your favorite sport, your children sports,
and anything else you consider a sport.
You know you can make your own up now a days? ;))

I chose to create a layout of Kameron.
He loves sports, baseball, soccer, and cross country are his favorites however,
he hasn't tried any others yet.
I am sure he will as he gets older.

Here is my layout for this weeks challenge.
Take a looksy....

A close-up of those yummy embellies...

I love this picture. My friend Julie took it at one of the boys games.

If the children get along it's most likely the parents will to.
Thanks Jules for the awesome surprise picture.
It will be hanging on my wall soon.
If you haven't stopped by Tiffany's to look at the other design team projects, you should.
There is a ton of inspiration over there.
I promise you will find something you like.

Scrap Tiffany Metal Challenge

This week's challenge at Scrap Tiffany was metal.
I love metal so this would be easy right?
Well yes, if it wasn't for all those Valentines. ;)))
I got a little behind this week with everything else, but I did get it done.
Here's what I did...

A closer look...
Supplies used:
Patterned papers:
Blue/white Dot-Tim Holtz-Vintage Shabby,
News Print:7Gypsies-Avignon-Annonce,
Black: Pink Paislee-Hollow Moon
Striped: Pink Paislee-Vintage Moon-Moonrakers
Gaffer Tape: 7Gypsies
Metals: Tim Holtz-Clocks/Parts/Corners/Bookplate
Metal Strip: Ten Second Studio
Mask: Tim Holtz-Clocks
Mist: Shimmerz-Licorice
Labels: Dymo Labeler

Am I the only one that seems to always scrap my children? That is great, I love it and they have plenty of events to scrap, but sometimes it's nice to see something else for a change, so I decided to create a layout of me and my hubby.
Then I started searching for a picture of us and it seems that I'm (we) are not in the pictures very much. So I had a hard time finding one of us.
I am changing that right now. Each time there is a camera present, I will be taking more pictures of me and my hubby. It actually made me mad at myself for a minute.
How terrible of me. Well, it's common but it is also fixable.
So get ready to see more of the two of us. ;))

Back to the layout, when I hear metal, I hear Tim Holtz. Don't you?
I love his stuff. My sis sent me a gigantic box not too long ago. A huge stack of his patterned papers, metals, tags and even an idea book on how to use his products(Ideaology). That was a super fun box to open.
Thanks Sis. You're the best!!
This was the first pile of stuff I pulled out for this challenge.

This was a great challenge. Why don't you give it a try?
If you do, send it over to Tiffany we would love to see what you do.
We all have creative inspiration to share.
Check out the rest of the Tiffany team for this challenge. It's always great

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day!!

Scrap Tiffany Gray & Yellow Color Challenge

The challenge this week at Scrap Tiffany is a color combo,
Gray and Yellow. Two of my favorites.
Gray is the new black right? Yellow is so the opposite of that.

I love color challenges. They really help to get us out of our box.
Color is my favorite. It really can set the mood of a room, party or even in our clothing it can be an expression of how we are feeling that day.
Maybe we should do a color challenge in our clothing.
Mix a couple new colors in your closet that you have never mixed before or maybe didn't think of.
You never know what you would come up with.
Well, back to the Tiffany challenge.
I chose to use a picture of my girls.
I love this picture. It was taken at my middle daughter's
Christmas program just last month.
It seems so funny that these three are sisters at such a wide range of ages, but ya know, they really do love each other a lot.
I can't wait to see what their relationships grow into over the years.
Ok, I'll shut up...here's my layout.

A couple closeups.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper: Yellow-Basic Gray-New Wheat;
Yellow Dot-Crate Paper-"Fireflies";
Scallop Stripe-7Gypsies
Transparency: Hambly-Doily Decor
Date Circle/Camera Circle: Pink Paislee
Gaffer Tape: 7 Gypsies
Brad: Karen Foster Designs
Glitter Letters: Michaels
Metal Strip: Making Memories
Misc: Jumbo paper clip, Gray t-shirt fabric, yellow Ric Rac,
Dymo Labeler, Dictionary paper

There you have it folks. I really enjoyed this layout not just because of the colors, but it was quite fun to think I didn't have anything gray or yellow.

All I pulled out gray was 1 pc of gray cardstock that I ended up not even using. I pulled out my bolt of gray tshirt fabric, I previously purchased at Walmart for $5.00 clearance and away I went on the machine, making my ruffles and flower.
Then I found 1 gray transparency hidden between some papers.
As I searched, I found a lot of the gray and yellow that I didn't know I had.

So don't always assume you need to go out and buy something to create the pages you want or need to create.
Most of the time us scrappers/crafters/sewers, don't even realize what we have in our stash. Although it is quite fun to go buy more, you don't always have to.

So see what you can create using this color combo. If it's a scrap page or card, send it to Tiffany. Don't tell her I told you but she loves to see what you create out there.
If you take the challenge of finding this color combo in your closet and make a "new" outfit, send me a picture. I would love to see.

Scrap Tiffany "All About Boys" Challenge

This week's challenge for Scrap Tiffany is "All About Boys".
I have one son and I love him.
He has brought so much to my life and is a ton of fun.
He helps to balance me and my girls to not be too girly.
This layout is from his 8th birthday party.
We took him and a group of boys to the Motocross races at our local arena.
We had never been before but we completely enjoyed it.
The boys had a blast which was the point.
Here is my layout for this week.

This patterned paper is from Bo Bunny. I love it! It almost doesn't need anything else. It has so many details already.
Make sure you head over to Tiffany's to see what the other designers created this week.
Make sure you're enjoying your holiday season and your family.

Scrap Tiffany Tuesday Tutorial

Tiffany's calendar for today has my name down for today's Tuesday Tutorial.

I decided to show you how to make the crepe paper flowers that I included on my layout from the "Crepe Paper" challenge about a month ago on ScrapTiffany.
If you didn't get a chance to look at all the different
ways to create with crepe paper on the you need to go check it out.
Trust me, you will never throw away those left over streamer rolls again.

Here we go...
It's so easy. You will be surprised.
You only need 3 supplies:
Sewing machine
Thread
Crepe Paper

That sounds easy enough right? Well, let's get started...

Can you think of a million possibilities with these? They kind of remind me of cupcake liners, but that's another post for another day. ;))

Ok, so have you been to the party store recently.
I LOVE the party store and I love to plan parties.
There are soooo many different colors and prints of crepe paper streamers.
You can layer these flowers to make them however you want them to be.
Don't forget, the more narrow you cut the strip AND the shorter you make the length, the smaller the flower will end up.

The center is a whole other design preference opportunity.
Brads, stones, metal, buttons, whatever else you can think of.
Even a tiny little crepe paper flower in a contrasting color would be great!!

Well, go on and get out your old party supplies and make some flowers with it.
If you make some, email me some pictures.
I love to see the different perspectives people have on creating the same items.

Thanks for stopping by..go get another cup of coffee so you
can finish your blog hopping for today. You know you want to.

Scrap Tiffany Crepe Paper Challenge

The challenge this week at Scrap Tiffany was Crepe Paper.
Well, I have to admit, when I pulled it out and started creating with it, I had a hard time stopping.

The layout I created below is of my latest baby girl, Adoration.
I cannot believe she is almost 8 months old.
It seems like yesterday that I was rushing to the hospital.

We were in the mall shopping with our friends recently.
We saw this coat and boots and couldn't resist putting it on Addi.
She didn't even cry when we zipped her up and propped her up in the kiddie chair. However, it did take a few of us to get the job done.

For some reason I didn't have my camera with me (I know, very strange),
so Nanny Bethany took a picture with her phone.
Whew!! Always saved by an Auntie or Nanny in one way or another.
Anyway, after we took the picture, I remembered the layout I had started at home and I hadn't selected a picture yet.
This one was perfect!!

Here is my Crepe Paper layout for Tiffany this week.

Supplies used:
Polka Dot Transparency: Teresa Collins
"Sweet" Stones: Glitz Designs
Dymo Labeler
Misc: Crepe paper, blue stone brad, ribbon, rub-on

I ruffled and sewed the layers directly on the paper. Then created a few different flowers with the same crepe paper.
This pink flower is the one I decided to use on this layout.
(hint, hint...VERY soon, I will be posting a tutorial on Tiffany's blog and here as well on how to make these crepe paper flowers. But ssshhh!! It's a secret!!).

I added a stone, some ribbon and a few other details and done.
Each one of these colors is one of my favorites.

Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you're interested in the flower tutorial.

I promise you won't be disappointed.

If you arrived from Keely's blog, then you are on the right track. If not, then you might want to start at the beginning so you don't miss any holiday inspiration.

I'm excited because there's a ton of blog hop holiday inspiration AND because this is the first Christmas project for me this year.
It will just get the holidays started for me. I must say, I was quite surprised when I heard Christmas music playing on the radio the other day. I hadn't even taken down my Halloween decor yet. Now I have and my mind has started shifting to the holiday season.
On to the blog hop fun...

For my project, I decided to make a card/tag holder out of a file folder.
Just a normal school folder. I got mine at Wal Mart for pocket change.
Here we go...

The front cover.

The inside cover.

The fun cards and tags.

A couple close-ups of the tags and cards.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper: 7Gypsies-"Ville" and "Pays";
Tags:Teresa Collins-"Gift Tags"; "25 Christmas" Teresa Collins- "Countdown til Christmas";
Red Santa Transparency-Creative Imaginations
Embossed paper: Cuttlebug
Metal Strip:Making Memories
Scallop punch
Misc: Red folder (Walmart);Black Cardstock; Ribbon; Velcro

Mini instructions:
Cut the folder 5 1/2 inches down from the top
left hand side of the folder.
Score and fold down 1 inch at the top right hand side.
Cover with paper and embellishments.
If you have any other questions about this project, please feel free to email me.

Well, that's my holiday project for this Blog Hop!!
Hope you are hopping away with some inspiration to make this project or
turn it into your own.
Always with Christmas comes presents, so
leave a comment AND become a follower on my blog
...
Santa will give away a nice Christmas surprise on Wednesday after the elves have completed all their holiday projects.

I will announce the winner on Wednesday!!

Head on over to Kristina's to check out her project.

You will not be disappointed.
Thanks again for joining us in this hop!!

Scrap Tiffany "Thrifty Thursday"

This week is my turn at the Thrifty Thursday at Scrap Tiffany.
The project I selected to do is very quick and easy and most likely you have the items right in your kitchen.
Kitchen!! Some may scream at that word.
I promise this project does not involve a spoon, bowl or even heat.
The only food it involves is the food you might snack on while you work on your creation.

So let's get started.
This is what we are making....

Doesn't it remind you of those coffee filter flowers
you used to make in school?
They also remind me of the tissue paper balls POMS.
They are neither. These are made with napkins.

Here are the supplies you will need:
3 ply napkins
twist ties
(from the bag of bread you had for toast this morning)
scissors

Gather those supplies and you can create some darn cute flowers.

Note: The center napkin could be a cocktail size napkin. I just used a large one and cut it down a little.

Wouldn't these flowers be great with printed napkins?
They could be clustered together, or put on a string to use as garland hanging on a wall, or on a table for decoration. You can even cut the edges with different types of decorative scissors.
There are lots of possibilities with these little napkin flowers.

Would love to see what you have done with these little flowers.
If you make some email a picture to me.
I would love to see what ideas you have with them.

Speaking of deals, look at what I found.
I found this lamp at Goodwill a few months back.
It was only $2.00. Yes, it works and everything.
It just needs a shade.
Well, that's the best part sometimes is finding a fun shade.
I've had it put away for the past few months. I wasn't even really searching for a shade. It just wasn't a priority at the time.
You can always find a spot for a cute black lamp.

Well, our Walmart is remodeling and they are clearancing out stuff from every department. They reprice it for clearance and they move it all out to the garden section.
Every time we are there we must walk through the garden section. It's fun sometimes to just look anyway.
Well, that was my plan until I saw this...

Isn't she a beaut!!! Thanks Clark!!!
(oh my, my mind knows when it almost time for the Christmas Vacation movie)

Well, it was on clearance for $4.00.
What??? Hmmm! As I'm holding it, and looking to see the size of how it attaches, I am thinking of the lamp from Goodwill.
So I buy it to try it on that cute black lamp.
Guess what??
Look at it now!!! Yes, it fits and I think it looks great!!
It sits on the table just inside the entry way.
A very cute lamp all for $6.00.
Talk about thrifty. I think it is one of my favorites lamps in my house.
Told ya bargains are fun!!!

Well, I've got just one more.
This is the best one yet...
During our Walmart visit, I also found a cute clock on the clearance section. It is about 23 inches around. I've been wanting a clock for my crafty studio. Guess what the colors were perfect.

Guess how much this big clock was?
$1.00!!!! No I didn't type that wrong. One dollar!!
I was floored. nothing wrong with it.
Just someone wanted to get rid of it.
I was happy to take it off their hands especially at that price.
So it's new home is right above my magnetic board in
my craft/scrap/sew studio.

Well, that's it for me today.
Thanks for stopping in.
Have a great two days before the weekend.
