Photography Class Winner!!

I WON!!!
I'm so excited!! I won a spot in the online photography class taught by Tammy Mitchell.
It's a class that teaches you how to use your Digital SLR camera.
Thank goodness I will be able to get out of auto mode with my camera.
I was visiting Teresa Collins blog one day and saw that Tammy Mitchell was giving away a class spot to Teresa Collins blog readers,
if you left a comment on Tammy's blog, she would choose a winner.
I received the email earlier this week that I was chosen for the spot. I am soooo excited.
Course will include topics such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, composition, editing, and much more, all with VIDEO tutorials and hundreds of image examples to help you REALLYunderstand the material.
Yay, not just for me, but for all those who have had to deal with all my questions with my camera. I cannot assure you the questions will stop, however, at least maybe now I will be able to talk with some knowledge about the subject matter. haha!
Here is the link if you are interested in joining me in the class:
I have been a follower of Tammy Mitchell for quite some time. I love her blog, her photography work and her creativity.
Check out her blog, its awesome. You will be inspired.
Thank you so much Tammy for the opportunity to learn the parts and features of my DSLR camera to take great pics.

Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by for the Rusty Pickle Blog Hop!!
The blog starts here...
Start there to see different projects posted from my fellow
Rusty Pickle Chefs, including some giveaways.

Here's my project.
I created an ornament for this special time of year.
It was fast and easy. Even my 7 year old son helped.
So this would be a great project for kids to make for someone special in their lives. Of course, that would be mom!!! haha!

I started with a styrofoam ball,
Cut paper strips as thin or as wide as you like,
ran them thru a paper crimper for added texture,
rolled them around a pencil,
stuck in the styrofoam with a straight pin,
added ribbon to hang it from and done.

Here's the finished product...

A close-up shot.

The paper I used was Rusty Pickle "White Christmas" line.
I love it!

I'm so glad you stopped by that I want to give away a "Merry Christmas" Rusty Pickle kit with all the contents and instructions to create this cute holiday mini book.
This kit includes everything from paper, trims, tags, file folders, chipboard covers, preprinted quotes, and more.

"Pelican" Layout

Here's a recent layout I created for Rusty Pickle.
You have to look at these pictures up close. Mostly the big one.
This was the funniest thing I think that has happened with this little girl.
As I've said before, she is not afraid of but absolutely loves animals, sea animals are her favorite however, bugs, frogs, snails, whatever, she loves to touch them, talk to them and even kiss them. Yes, kiss them. She has kissed a frog and a snail.
She is so funny!!
Here's the layout, take a looksy for yourself...

Crazy!! I know! I screamed out, there were strangers taking pictures. We all couldn't believe what we just saw. Mr. Pelican's mouth opened so huge. She really probably would have fit inside.
Up he went with his beak, opened his mouth and
then down he went right for her face.

Why didn't he go for my husband?lol! Why this innocent little girl?
She did not even back up, she just put her hands on her cheeks, in the picture you can see one foot stepped back and the strength in my husband's hand trying to pull her back, that's why her foot had stepped back, because he pulled her back.
So the next day we wake up she says,
"Mommy, I want to go back and see Mr. Pelican,
to teach him to be nice to me."

Lord, child!! We didn't go back!

Thought this was such a great story but really could have been a lot worse.
We had some friends with us that were telling us that a pelican got a hold of their friends daughter's arm and tore the skin all up. They have a huge tooth in the front of the beak that use to get the fish out of the water. My daughter always claims she is a fish.???

Hope you all are having a great holiday season!!
Leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.

Christmas is here!!!

Christmas is here!!
That is what Brooklin said when we pulled all the decor out for Christmas. She is my little Elf!! She loves every part of Christmas.
Not just the presents!!

We are finally done with our decorating. Here are some pics of the process of the day. We completed it within about 8 hrs. Not too bad!!
This year was different because Shine was not here to decorate with us. She was still on her Nashville visit..however, she did get to help my sister with her decorating. hhmm?? I see clearly now why she extended her visit. Shine helps me sooo much, especially with the high stuff.
So we did the best we could.
We missed you Shine!!

Now I don't think I have as many boxes as my sister but I do have to say I have quite a mess during the process.
Take a look...this is only one room..if you were to walk around any corner you would see more and larger containers around every bend.

Kameron putting one of his ornaments on the tree.

Here's the little Elf.
"Can I eat those gumdrops?"

The tree put up and lit up. Boy, do we have a lot to still do at this point.

This is our singing/dancing Christmas Tree. She is such a happy part of our Christmas tradition. She is so silly that you must laugh. She sings while moving her arms and swinging her lower half, then when she's done singing she tells a joke..."I'm branchin out!!" then she laughs at her own jokes, just in case you don't. The kids love her.

This picture is from before we were married. It is a tradition to put this up on the mantel in the same spot every year.

Ok, so things are starting to take shape..still lots to do but how about a game of tic-tac-toe?

You musn't forget the Christmas train.
Another tradition. Again, the kids love it.
Who am I kidding?
All this isn't for the kids, my husband loves it! hhmm?

My mom gave me this light up Santa years ago. She used to put him in the same spot right next to the fireplace when I was a kid.
So when she gave it to me, I had no choice but to continue placing him there..Brooklin has always loved him too. Last year she took his glasses off and put them on her face. Of course, I took a picture. Hilarious!!

Little Elf looking at part of her Snow Globe collection. Yes, i said Snow Globe collection. She does have one and it continues to grow. Aunt ReRe bought this one for her last year.
She loves it!! It's also a music box.
However, this one only comes out at Christmas.
She has all the others in her room.

Need I say more?

Mema putting on a special ornament that she bought for me.

It's an ornament for the baby. I love it!!
Thanks mom!!

There you have it..the process!! I will post pictures very soon of the finished product.
I am so glad to have it done.
Now on to family, friends, parties, and fun!!
