We have a Falcon in our house!!!

Well, we do!!! We have a bunch of Egle's and one Falcon!!!! haha!!!Kameron came home from school with an nicely decorated envelope addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Egle. This is the last piece of mail that a parent wants to see come home from school. So I open the letter, mind you Kameron was very excited that he got to bring home a nicely decorated envelope to me. He had no idea what was inside.
So I open it and start reading out loud, Kameron waiting patiently next to me....
"Kameron has earned the Falcon of the Month award for Citizenship!!!!
He will be honored during our assembly in the cafeteria in front of the whole school and invited parents.
I had to cover up a little cause the bottom of the award said, SShhh!!Please keep this a secret!!!
Oopps!!! Well, I stopped reading right after I said what the award was for...then said, Ha!! just kidding...well, he is a little smarter than that and said then why is there a picture of a trophy on there then...ooopss!!! Well, then I just avoided his question and then just asked him...have you been talking in class and have you gotten your name on the board...he responded with..."Only two times...so I left it at that with a chuckle inside and just said we would talk to dad about this later. He fell for it!!! Whew!!!!

We are so proud of you Kameron for your hard work...
Here is the video of his principal reading what his teacher wrote about him and why he was chosen for this award....

Here are the photos from the assembly....

Kameron with his teacher, Ms. Higdon... Kameron...we are so proud of you for being a good citizen..great job...you are a good student and great son. We love you and are very thankful you are our son. Keep it up!!!

Unexpected House Guest!!!!

Last week we had an unexpected visitor show up at our house...it was Monday afternoon, my house hadn't been cleaned yet, I hadn't been to the grocery store yet, I was super busy and on top of that, our house guest stayed for the entire week. Needless to say, I just couldn't turn away a visitor at my door well, at least not this one....

It was Gerald the Giraffe!!

No one turns away Gerald, even if it is for the entire week...

Allow me to explain...in Kameron's 1st grade class, each week a child is selected to bring home Gerald the Giraffe. Along with Gerald comes his decorated overnight bag, complete with his Giraffe Storybook, Gerald Journal, and of course, Gerald the Giraffe...
The student keeps the Giraffe all week and takes Gerald with them where ever they go. This could be soccer, dinner, friends houses, playing games...whatever the child does, Gerald does too.

I know, I know, that's the last thing I need is another something to tend to. Right mom???

The first thing Kameron did with Gerald was homework...don't worry Gerald, Kameron gets his homework done really fast...

After homework, mom gives me just a little bit of time on the Xbox....did I say very little?

Gerald also went to soccer practice with Kameron...(I think that picture is on Hugo's computer, you'll see it in the journal pages).
Actually, the boy that Kameron took a picture with at soccer remembered Gerald from last year. Small world for a little Giraffe.

Then there is bedtime...yes, Kameron is really asleep...
So everything you do, and everywhere you go, you take Gerald. You are to take pictures and then Journal for the week on the things Gerald got to experience at your house. You can add your pictures, stickers etc., and decorate it how you like. However, the most important part is the child is to write their journal entries sharing about Gerald's week.

Well, you don't have to say that to a scrapbooker twice....most of the kids took 1 page, maybe 2...but not my "son of a scrapper", no we took 4 pages. I know it appears that this was my project, however, Kameron did help.

These are Kameron's journal entries and scrapbook pages...(I love the beginning stages of writing).

We had a good visit with Gerald, now it is another student's turn to visit with Gerald. We enjoyed you Gerald!!!

Til next Time with T!!!

ps..it was important to Kameron that I post this on our blog...I think he needs his own...he probably could keep up with it better than I have been able to...

By the way...I miss all you bloggers out there...no one has made an entry in awhile. So here's to blogging...let's try to make an entry 1-2 x's per week...(yes, I will take my own advice).

Cooking Class!!!

Mom, me and Shine decided to go to a cooking class. We are having so much fun. I have been a few times before and mom has been once before, however, this time Shine went and the 3 of us are a team, well, with one additional teammate.
We are having a ton of fun!!! The class we are taking is International Cooking, so we are cooking from different countries. In addition, each week we go on a field trip. We meet at a specialized store for the country we are focusing on that week. The store has specific ingredients for the country and/or recipies we are making. It's amazing to me, I didn't know these stores even existed, well at least not so far. We'll see...I love it so much because it is getting me out of my cooking box.
Our first week was Italian cooking. So we went to Sam's Deli. Everything you could imagine that's Italian. I didn't realize there are so many shapes of pasta, well at least not locally.
Here are some pictures of our field trip and class (mom had to work late so it was just me and Shine on this one, but mom comes to class after)....

I love Shine in this Apron...It's the flag of Italy. She wanted to buy an apron for each week based on the country we were focused on...ok so that didn't happen...but she does look cute in it...

If you know my mom you have seen this before...

This is the dish me and my kitchen partner made..."Lasanga Pie"...It was very good. Mostly veggies, no meat...This was before it cooked...

This was our dish...presentation complete...yummo!!

Mom and Shine teamed up to make "Cannoli"...They are dipping the ends in chocolate...mom's idea....I think mom could teach this class...

Shine filling the "Cannoli" with cream...she looks like a natural to me... This warms my heart to see my daughter working with my mom. I love it...definitely valued memories.
This is there finished product...they were good, however, mom and I decided that we would add more sugar to the cream...

Hey, we didn't get this body from the gym...haha!!

Well, that's our first class...Italian cooking!!! I love Italian food. Next week is Mediterrean. I'll share more pictures and possibly some tested recipies...keep checking back..

Kameron's Video of Aunt Sheri!!!

Ok so after the last post of showing what an awesome Aunt my children have...(we've buttered her up), now I want to show a video of Kameron imitating her in the car. Here goes....sis you said you wanted to see it. So don't get upset....
Ok, allow me to set it up...We were waiting in the car for Hugo to get a haircut and Kameron said he wanted to listen to Christmas music. By the way, all of my children are Christmas Freaks...they all love it...I don't just mean the presents they get, we so try to not have that be the focus, but they love the decorating, baking, "Twas the Night Before Christmas book", gingerbread houses with Aunt Sheri, lights, dinners, music, Christmas programs, cider, family...they love the entire season and of course the most important, the whole reason for the season, Jesus. So I just so happen to still have a CD in the car from last year. (I have a ton of Christmas music, every year it's my tradition to purchase the latest Christmas CD to add to my collection, just how many more times can another artist record the same song and we keep buying it, haha). So I put in Bette Midler Christmas...this is why you are hearing Christmas music in the background.
So times up just look and listen....

Another one just in case you didn't catch the first one....

I laugh out loud everytime I watch these videos. Kameron laughs too. Sis these are so funny. I hope you are glad you got to see them.

You know he loves you very much and loves to tease you. Love ya Sis!

This is a short post after the last two long ones.

The Mailman and Aunt Sheri!!!

The kids were excited when they came home the other day. There were 3 boxes on the front porch from Aunt Sheri. You will see in the pics how they knew they were from Aunt Sheri. The mailman even knows they're from Aunt Sheri.
I love seeing them get so excited when they get stuff from her.
Here's why....

There is no question...anyone who has touched that box knows that Aunt Sheri loves these kids..all the packages from her show up like this. The funniest thing is Unle Rick has to take them to the post office. I'll bet he looks so cute carrying them in...just to add to the picture in your mind...there is never just one box, but two to three at a time. The funniest was the Easter box with pink, yellow and the Big Bunny on the side. To my understanding he gets a lot of comments/looks his way. This is how he has invited so many people to the church. haha!! Just kidding...Sorry Unle Rick...well, not really, just couldn't pass that one up.

She puts a printout of something directly related to each one of the kids...they love it and feel very special.

Brooklin knows exactly what the box says and reads it to me everytime..."That box says, "I love you, Brooklin" and "Aunt Sheri misses Brooklin"...

Sorry this gets a little loud....but if you've ever been to my house then I don't need to explain. lol!! but I love my fam.

These are toys that Aunt Sheri bought for Brooklin during our visit to Nashville....however, due to my boot purchase and a few other things..lol!! I did not have room. Unle Rick already had to pay the extra fee for my luggage being over the weight limit and Ashley gave me an extra bag. So Sis just mailed them.

This was Kameron's present...he loved it..it was a Star Wars Transformer. He immediately got out the directions and mastered it. Little Hugo!!!
Shine loves her bag and bracelet Aunt Sheri bought and Ash picked out. Shine loves everything Ashley and Aunt Sheri pick out.
And then there's "Felix, the Frog". There's some great video that explains the story of Felix, however, if I posted that one, it could quite possibly be the last post I ever do. My sister would send me to heaven a little early. lol!!! Mom purchased Felix for Brooklin and he is sticky and squishy just like a real frog. Felix's purpose in life was to torment my sister. Let's just say, Brooklin named him Felix immediately after mom's purchase. She loves him and well, sis does not. So Brooklin had to pray for Felix while we were visiting Nashville, because somehow now he is a 3 legged Felix the Frog. Mysterious isn't it???? He was supposed to go on the plane with us but upon getting out of Unle Rick's truck, we left him accidently in the car. So he had to go air mail back to Brooklin.
I found these great Christmas ornaments at Hobby Lobby while we were visiting, however, I was on a budget while visiting and just decided even though I loved them so much, they needed to stay in Nashville. However, I didn't know that after I left, my wonderful sister went back and bought the exact ones I wanted. I love, love, love them so much. Thanks sis. They will add greatly to my kitchen Christmas tree this year.
So I got stuff in this mail delivery too. There was more, like the layaway I put on while I was there and then Unle Rick picked up for me, some cute shoes and a piece of decor for my kitchen, and the cream and sugar holders from Crate n Barrel that sis bought for me...thx Unle Rick. Of course, Sis too...she made it happen, Rick just paid for it all.

Well, that was our visit from the mailman. Trust me I have a ton more of mailman delivery pictures. I have had to give them a separate folder for all the pics of boxes being shipped to us from Nashville.

Sis, thank you once again for your unselfish ways. You made someone else a priority again, me and my children. I just don't know how you do it. Your an amazing sister and I love you!! It really is nothing about the stuff that you send, that's cool but I am so lucky to have a sister like you! However, Don't cry while reading this!!!!

Lv ya'all,

Shine's Ortho Appt!!!

Well, today was Friday, October 10th, and we had a busy day. The normal morning of dropping off the kids at school and off to work I went. However, I did get to take Shine to work with me today because she had an ortho appt this morning and I wouldn't have time to drive all the way back to school to pick her up. I love taking her with me to work, I am very proud of her. She's smart, beautiful, loves work stuff like her mom, and is very hardworking. She actually did work today. We asked our legal secretary if she had any filing to do but she said no. So I put her to work organizing and cleaning out our office supply closet. Needless to say, she loves office supplies like her mom and Aunt Sheri and will play with them at all costs, and 2. she is an organizing freak like her mom and Aunt Sheri. So we were all in a win, win situation. Our supplies closet got cleaned out and she gets to play with office supplies. I know, blah, blah, blah!!! However, you should see the closet. I forgot to take a picture but it looks great. I will take one and put it on here. She did a great job. She even threw away all the unnecessary items. Anyway, we finally left the office to go to the orthodontist. Due to the time of her appointment I got to leave Brooklin at school and just me and Shine to have some time to ourselves. I had fun wit her. I love my Shine...I am sooo proud of her, really. I have a great daughter. She really does have a good head on her shoulders and does everything she can to make the right decisions. I am blessed. I hear some horror stories of adolesence. So I thought I would share some pictures of our visit there.....
Take a peek for youself at the fun we had......
This is Shine standing in front of the board inside the front door...This is Serenia, she worked on Shine's teeth today...she is supercool, I had a blast with her and we even talked about getting together outside of the office...she has my personality.
See I told you she was fun....
Serenia is working on Shine...
I love this girl!!! She definitely "Shines" in my life...
This is Dr. Nicole working on Shine as well...

We had a good time today...I know it sounds like a funny post our visit to the ortho, but we had a good time together...however, take a look at the next pic and you'll understand....

SHINE GOT HER BRACES OFF!!!!!! OMG!!! I can't believe it!!!Before you get upset because none of you out there knew, well, Shine swore me to secrecy. She wanted everyone to be surprised.

I told Dr. Nicole, thanks a lot, you just added another year to her look. What the heck do I do now???All you mom's out there.

Anyway, here's the rest of the pics....

This one is funny...Serenia used the suction on her eyes cause she was crying from pain and joy.... Shine's first look in the mirror....

These are Shine's before photos...first of all she looks so young(it was only about 1 1/2 years ago), second look at the difference in her teeth and mouth...Amazing!!!

Braces off!!!!! First "real" picture without them....

Look how old she looks now....

My little girl is now a young lady, that looks beautiful...

Her congratulations prize!!! All the foods she was not supposed to eat...chewy caramel, gum, popcorn, sticky candy and a celebration bottle of cider with balloons...

Sign on the wall...her picture will be added.

Here's she is my beautiful daughter....I love you so much and I am so proud of you!! You are a beautiful young lady, your smart, and very loving and I am very proud of you.

Sorry this post is so long...but it was a pretty important day to my girl...
