Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by for the Rusty Pickle Blog Hop!!
The blog starts here...
Start there to see different projects posted from my fellow
Rusty Pickle Chefs, including some giveaways.

Here's my project.
I created an ornament for this special time of year.
It was fast and easy. Even my 7 year old son helped.
So this would be a great project for kids to make for someone special in their lives. Of course, that would be mom!!! haha!

I started with a styrofoam ball,
Cut paper strips as thin or as wide as you like,
ran them thru a paper crimper for added texture,
rolled them around a pencil,
stuck in the styrofoam with a straight pin,
added ribbon to hang it from and done.

Here's the finished product...

A close-up shot.

The paper I used was Rusty Pickle "White Christmas" line.
I love it!

I'm so glad you stopped by that I want to give away a "Merry Christmas" Rusty Pickle kit with all the contents and instructions to create this cute holiday mini book.
This kit includes everything from paper, trims, tags, file folders, chipboard covers, preprinted quotes, and more.

"Pelican" Layout

Here's a recent layout I created for Rusty Pickle.
You have to look at these pictures up close. Mostly the big one.
This was the funniest thing I think that has happened with this little girl.
As I've said before, she is not afraid of but absolutely loves animals, sea animals are her favorite however, bugs, frogs, snails, whatever, she loves to touch them, talk to them and even kiss them. Yes, kiss them. She has kissed a frog and a snail.
She is so funny!!
Here's the layout, take a looksy for yourself...

Crazy!! I know! I screamed out, there were strangers taking pictures. We all couldn't believe what we just saw. Mr. Pelican's mouth opened so huge. She really probably would have fit inside.
Up he went with his beak, opened his mouth and
then down he went right for her face.

Why didn't he go for my husband?lol! Why this innocent little girl?
She did not even back up, she just put her hands on her cheeks, in the picture you can see one foot stepped back and the strength in my husband's hand trying to pull her back, that's why her foot had stepped back, because he pulled her back.
So the next day we wake up she says,
"Mommy, I want to go back and see Mr. Pelican,
to teach him to be nice to me."

Lord, child!! We didn't go back!

Thought this was such a great story but really could have been a lot worse.
We had some friends with us that were telling us that a pelican got a hold of their friends daughter's arm and tore the skin all up. They have a huge tooth in the front of the beak that use to get the fish out of the water. My daughter always claims she is a fish.???

Hope you all are having a great holiday season!!
Leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.

Here are a couple layouts for October I completed for Rusty Pickle.

August Layouts!

So you are probably wondering where I have been. Well, as many of you know I am having a baby...yes, its true. We are expecting a little one. Our due date is March 14th, 2010. We are very surprised but happy. If I could have one wish, of course, after the health of my baby, I wish I could share this baby with my family as close as we have with the other three. It seems like they are so far away now. We will have to work that part out. Hmm??
Anyway, I have not felt well AT ALL, nausea. It hits at different parts of the day. Not usually in the morning, but afternoon. However, I get tired very easily thruout the entire day.
Then with the kids going back to school. I really don't have a lot of time to myself to do some of the things I enjoy. So there you have it. Hopefully, I'm over the sick part. It seems to be lessening. We shall see!!!

Here are a few Rusty Pickle layouts for August...
Enjoy!!!

These pics are at the lake..we were invited to a friend's Graduation Party.
Go Eric!!!
The kids had a blast...Kameron rode all day or as much as he could on the boat or jet ski. Anyone who would take him, he went. Brooklin played in the sand, blew bubbles and started a big water fight that turned to the adults. I soooo owe you Kevin. Shine enjoyed hanging out with friends, on the boat or in the water or playing games. She too got into a water fight, her's involved the hose. She enventually lost to Megan with hose drenching her. She started it.
We had a great day!!!

This layout is of my Shine...she is really an All American Girl.

This one....my Brooklin. This took place on the 4th of July. We were at Grandma's house (Bernadette's Mom) in the country. It was dusk and the kids all found a frog. He wasn't a little tiny frog, yes he fit in Brooklin's hands but he was still a fat, wrinkly, bumpy, slimy frog.
Well, Brooklin was most impressed. Right away she ran to catch him up in her hands. She was not a bit afraid at all. Even some of the boys didn't want to touch it. But not my Brooklin, no way. She is a creature loving kinda kid. I had to send my camera over, because I didn't want to even get close.
Not only did she hold him and caress him, talk to him (Hello, Mr. Green Frog), she kissed him
3x's with her lips. Disgusting!! If you look closely at the picture on the top right, you will see her puckering up. If you look closely at the picture on the bottom right, you will see Mr. Green Frog happily just sitting in her hands. He didn't seem to try to get away from her.
I think my mom may have bleached her hands and lips afterwards. lol!!
I probably would have stopped the kissing but I was not told until after the fact. I may have drawn a mommy line at that one.
She was so happy to have met, held and conversed with Mr. Green Frog!!

So I hope you enjoyed this post...feels good to be back. I'm sure you all may have been wondering if I had run off with Keith Urban, after such a long delay after that post. lol!!

Will be back soon!!!

Rusty Pickle Chef!!

That's me!!! Yes, I made it!!! I am so excited!!!
I am a Rusty Pickle Chef!!!
What does that mean to you non-scrappers? That means I will design scrapbook projects using the product they send to me each month.
Along with a few other responsiblities.

Here's what happened....
My name was not on the original list for a chef...
but they wanted us all to be on the team, so they gave us all a second chance.

If we could get three projects published it would automatically qualify us to be a chef!!!
Well, I didn't sit around, I picked my chin up and got back to the computer, and started uploading asap.
So I finished all my uploads by about 5:00 pm..I sent 8 in to various places for publication...by 830, I had 5 emails saying that all 5 were accepted for publication.
Omg...my head was spinning. I wasn't even home when the emails came in...I received a call from a friend telling me to check to see the status.
I was at another friends house and asked to use their computer...and viola!!! there they were the 5 emails (only needed 3) I needed to complete my qualification to be a chef.
I can't tell you how honored I am to be a part of such a great team. Already, I am having so much fun connecting with this great team.
I really feel this will be a positive experience for me, in many ways.

Again, I want to say thank you for all your comments and support along the way during this journey. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the emails, texts, phone calls and comments toward me and my work.
I have an amazing support group!!!
I read to each and every one of them.
They helped so much!!

Check back soon!!!
I will be posting some more of my projects.
I still need to post a couple birthday parties from the girls that went on right before the race.
Don't forget to leave a comment to tell me you stopped by!!
