Two Peas Celebrity!!!

Well, look who's back!!!
Wow! Apparently, summer took me away from my blog.

I have missed it so much! We have had lots of life stuff going on this summer.
Plenty of changes that have been oober overwhelming.
So much so that I haven't been able to create or post very much.
I've sewn a little but that's about it.
Now we are in the middle of moving. So that brings on a whole new set of responsibilities.
Boxes, going thru old accumulated stuff, boxes and making choices on  storing some things that we won't use for a bit, and more boxes, and boxes. Ugh!!

In the meantime, my sis has been creating like a madwoman.
Well, she moved recently too, so her's was on hold just a bit too, so I don't feel so guilty.

Look who got on the Two Peas list for
MOST BOOKMARKED AND MOST LIKED...
My sister, Sheri!!!

One of her most recent layouts was featured on Two Peas as the most bookmarked and most liked for today.WHOOHOO to my sis!!! I know a celebrity!!!
If you are not familiar with Two Peas, they are a major scrapbooking site that sells product, gives classes and has a gallery to post your items.  From there readers vote on layouts and are a part of their online community. A great community for scrapbookers.

You can look and see why it was bookmarked and liked so much.
The color is amazing and it all flows so great!
The best part of the layout is the picture in my opinion.
That little girl is my creation, that is our Brooklin.
So I underestimated myself, I have been creating.
Just happens to be children, with a little help, of course.  :)
Sorry, couldn't resist that one....back to scrapping....
The web page is listed below but you can see more detail and the comments listed if you click on the link above.

Congrats to my big sis!! She always inspires me.
Not just her creativeness but in just regular old life too.
Want to get to know her more....check out her blog here.
Uber deliciousness of creativity!!!
Leave her a comment, she loves it! Don't tell her I said that!! shhh!!

Love ya Sis!!
You are one amazing scrapper and sister!!
I'm super lucky to have you as my older sister.
Congrats!!!

Adoration's First Birthday!!

Wow!! One year ago today, I was in a hospital bed holding and feeding my sweet Adoration.
She is such a blessing to our whole family.
We all ask each other all the time, "What did we do without her?"
She was a surprise to us all but the best surprise ever.
I really do not know how time travels so fast.
I think as a mom, no matter how much time you have with them, you always feel like it wasn't enough time, and you always want more time.

Happy Birthday to our Sweet Adoration Capri!!
We love you very much.
**Warning: This is a photo heavy post!!!**

This is my tummy before she was born..

This is her tummy inside my tummy.
Still amazes me to see this.
God is a cool God!!!

Her Birth Announcement..

Her Birthday Box that my sister made for my shower.
Everyone filled out a card written out to her for each year of her birthday.
Yay!! We get to read the first one today.

Adoration and her sweet Daddy.
He is more and more proud each child we have.
He now has 6 total.
He is definitely wrapped by this one. He is a softy with her.

This is our new family.
I remember looking at them all sitting at the end of my bed and
thinking "Oh my, can I love them any more than I already do?" and
"Lord, help me to be a good mom and not screw them up"

Me and my girls.
So blessed!!!

Tiny, wrinkly feet.
I still kiss the bottoms of them.

I love this picture of her. Sure perfection! God makes no mistakes.
She was sleeping.

Me and my Adoration.

Another favorite of mine.

Sweet Baby Addi.

Her outfit Mema made for her.

This is her first Easter. Such a pretty baby girl.
We looked down and this is what she was doing.
Maybe she was searching for Easter eggs?

My first Mother's Day with her.

I couldn't resist this picture.
The room was super dark but thank goodness for my camera.

Yee Haw!!!

That sweet face.

She was not impressed with her first Halloween costume.
AT ALL!!!

She did like her pumpkin though.

We got her out of bed one morning and she had turned into a little mermaid.
Both her feet were in one leg of her jammies.
She was still smiling though.

At the park on the swing.

Her first Thanksgiving.
This is her signature face she makes.

In Bubba's baseball hat after his game.
If she was older, she probably wouldn't want to put it on after a game. :))

Adoration and Kameron. She loves her Bubba.
They have the same hair.

Wow! Where did all that time go?

Happy Birthday to our sweet Adoration.
You have given so much to our lives already.
We love you more each day.

Thanks for making it through my pics of my girl.
I kept finding more and more.

Have a great week!!

Kameron's Invention

I was out of the house one night this week, when I came home, Kameron shared with me that he made something while I was gone.
I asked him what he had made. He answered, "A flashlight".
I wondered for a second, a paper flashlight with a paper bulb, etc.
Well, I was quite surprised when he told me that it actually lit up.
Then I asked to see it.
Here's what he brought to me.
A closeup..
I asked him if he made it himself and he said he did.  He shared with me that he had to ask his dad for some wire and how to strip the wire. The rest he put together on his own.
Pretty cool huh?

It doesn't really surprise me that he created this.
I know he is very capable of making something like this.

Great job Kameron!!
Mom is sooooo proud of you!!
See I told you I would put your creation on my blog :))
Always!!

Hope you're having a great Saturday!!

Latest and Greatest Author

I got a call today from our dear friends(more like our family), Bernadette and Bethany (our Nanny that has watched our children for years).
That's really how our relationship started was "Nanny B" watching our children. Then we became close with her parents as well.  We are so very thankful to them for more than I can share.
Back to the call....
It was an urgent call. On the other end of the phone, I hear Bernie saying to me, "Can you stop by my house real quick in between your errands?"
Of course I responded with, "absolutely!!"
Me and Shine went over about 20 min later.
I am met at the door by Bethany, then I see Josh, Alisha and Bernie.
Which really is not completely abnormal cause they always do that when someone comes over.  Especially when it's me, cause Josh loves it when I come over:)) ha!
Anyway, here comes Bethany with this stack of papers and she hands them to me and says this is why we had you come over.
I have to say, I was a little nervous to look down at what she had placed in my hands.
When I did, I just screamed at excitement for her.
Here is what she placed in my hands....

Yes, our Nanny B, has a contract to get a book published that she wrote.
Uh-mazing!!! Well, although I am very excited, I am not in the least bit surprised.
Bethany is a writer and we see it all the time, where she has written something that is quite amazing.
I have somewhat altered this picture slightly removing some things for personal reasons.
However, this is legitimate. This book is getting published and you will soon be able to buy this book in the major bookstores, Borders, Barnes and Nobles, Books-A-Million, etc.
I can't share much more about the details of this amazing book, but I can tell you this..I have not just read this book, but I actually had a reading of the entire book straight from the author herself including the utmost expression and emotion.
Let me say, I cannot wait to get one or more of the first copies of this gem.
You will want one too, trust me!
I will most definitely share it here as soon as the cat is out of the bag.
Well, I guess I just took it out of the bag, but I couldn't wait.
But, no secrets out of my mouth, not yet.

Congrats to you our Nanny B!!
We are all so proud of you and cannot wait to
go take pictures of you at your book signings.
You know I will be there as your photographer. :))
I know you have waited a very long time for this and guess what?
It's here!!
God has blessed you!!
Now let's go plan a book party!!
xoxo

Well that's the good news for today.
Hope you have fun Friday and a wild weekend!!

Scrap Tiffany Metal Challenge

This week's challenge at Scrap Tiffany was metal.
I love metal so this would be easy right?
Well yes, if it wasn't for all those Valentines. ;)))
I got a little behind this week with everything else, but I did get it done.
Here's what I did...

A closer look...

Labels: Dymo Labeler

Am I the only one that seems to always scrap my children? That is great, I love it and they have plenty of events to scrap, but sometimes it's nice to see something else for a change, so I decided to create a layout of me and my hubby.
Then I started searching for a picture of us and it seems that I'm (we) are not in the pictures very much. So I had a hard time finding one of us.
I am changing that right now. Each time there is a camera present, I will be taking more pictures of me and my hubby. It actually made me mad at myself for a minute.
How terrible of me. Well, it's common but it is also fixable.
So get ready to see more of the two of us. ;))

Back to the layout, when I hear metal, I hear Tim Holtz. Don't you?
I love his stuff. My sis sent me a gigantic box not too long ago. A huge stack of his patterned papers, metals, tags and even an idea book on how to use his products(Ideaology). That was a super fun box to open.
Thanks Sis. You're the best!!
This was the first pile of stuff I pulled out for this challenge.

This was a great challenge. Why don't you give it a try?
If you do, send it over to Tiffany we would love to see what you do.
We all have creative inspiration to share.
Check out the rest of the Tiffany team for this challenge. It's always great

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day!!

More Valentines and Breakfast.

We finally finished this year's Valentines.
Shine wanted to take some to her class too.
So we tried to do something a little more sophisticated than the normal paper SpongeBob Valentines, considering her age.
So here's what we did...
Here are all of our supplies.
Take all this...
and this cutie pie....

Put these on a cookie sheet just like this..
(don't forget some parchment paper underneath the candy)
I added it after this picture.
Put them in a 300 degree oven for about 5 minutes.
You will see them turn a little flat. Then you will know it's time to get them out.
Let them cool for only about 1 min max.
Then get 4-inch sucker sticks and put them in the bottom.
You have to smoosh the two ends together onto the stick.
I used a couple butter knives so I didn't burn my fingers.
You have to work kind of fast because they harden pretty quick.

Don't think you're seeing things, I used two different candy canes.

Here they all are in one big pile. About 30.
That makes 90 Valentines this year between all the kids.
When Coco gets a little bigger we will be about 120 per year.
What are we a factory or something?
Stay focused!!!(self talk)

Here is a closeup! We placed each one in a cellophane bag and tied with ribbon.
She did not want a cute tag. Ouch! That hurt but ok, I had to choose my battles. At least she was still taking Valentine's at 15, right?

Well, that's the last of the Valentines for this year.

On to breakfast.
I decided since the kids all had school on Valentines Day,
I would make their special breakfast on Sunday instead.
Take a peek into our morning...
This is the table all set up. I didn't buy a thing.
Everything was in my house. I like those types of projects.

Well, here's the menu breakdown.
These are heart shaped egg scrambles with cheese.
Cresent rolls cut into heart shapes, with a little scrambled eggs and cheese stuffed inside, then cooked according to the package.

Chocolate Chip heart shaped pancakes. Completely from a mix.
No molds here, just took a medium sized spoon and formed half the heart and then scooped up some more batter and formed the other side.
After making a couple you will have it down to a science.
Trust me on this one folks!

These are cinnamon sugar hearts.
This is just the left over dough from the cresent rolls, cut out in a smaller heart shape, then rolled in cinnamon sugar. These were a big hit!

This is Strawberry Syrup. Which my family loves better than maple.
It's just some berries, strawberry jam and some strawberry ice cream syrup.
They all LOVED it! A little more naughty than my homemade strawberry syrup but it's a special sundae!!! :))

Then the real kicker for them all was Berry smoothies, or
Brooklin called them "LOVE POTION".

So don't throw me out the window b/c they were not organic.
Next time for sure!! Well, maybe.
Some berries, milk, strawberry syrup and strawberry ice cream.
Did you hear that static in the air?
I hope you didn't miss any ingredients!! :))))
Mix in a blender til smooth.
Top with a dollop of Cool Whip or whipped cream and some
Valentine sprinkles.
Wow! Did you hear that static again?
What is that? ;)))
Everyone got a big glass, glass. Even Brooklin.
She was very excited to have a big girl glass.
She said it was just like at Ashley's Bridal Luncheon.
This was the table setting.
Guess what the placemats are?
A pink piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. Told you it was all in my stash.

This was my hubby's place setting.
He doesn't eat chocolate chip pancakes, so I gave him his fav, blueberry pancakes.
He was most happy to have his own stash of pancakes.

This is what it looks like on the plate.
You can do a lot with a few heart shaped cookie cutters.
Yes, that is peanut butter on the pancake. We have eaten it like that since we were children. It's best with hot maple syrup over the top. Try it, you won't be sorry.
Trust me, I didn't get these hips at the mall.

On each place setting I put a little red heart with each person's name on it. On the other side, I wrote something special to them, just from mom.
Then as we sat at the table, they each read them aloud.
Sometimes it's hard to say those things about ourselves,
but it's good every now and then.
Then, each person said one thing they loved about each person at the table.
It was so fun to hear some of the things each of my family members shared.
They were so cute.
I think they all said they loved that mom was so creative and cooked good for them.
It was great for us all to share a little love for each other.

I must say one last thing. My kids and hubby were so appreciative of this special "Love" breakfast.
Kameron kept saying "Wow! Mom this is the best breakfast ever!!", he also said, "Mom, if the Next Food Network Star show was here they would see the breakfast and make you the "Next Food Network Star!" More than once,
Brooklin said "Mom, you are the bestest chef mommy ever!! I'm going to Valentine you on Valentines Day!"
Shine said, "Mom, you did a really good job on breakfast."
On and on they went!!
It really didn't take too much longer than a normal breakfast.
And the extra time it did take, was FAR worth it to see how happy this little fun food made my family. They were very impressed!!
We can spend so much time on trying to impress everyone else in the world and the most important ones are sitting right in front of us everyday. Those are the ones that really matter most because they will remember it the longest!!

This post was much longer than I anticipated. Sorry about that.
I hope you found something on here that you can use for the ones you love.
Don't let today go by without telling and more important showing the ones you love just exactly how much you love them.
A little love goes a LONG way!!

Happy Valentines Day!!
Til next Time with T!!
