ScrapTiffany "Scraplift" Challenge

This week's challenge at Scrap Tiffany was "scraplift".
Well, I immediately thought of all the blogs and people I admire in scrapbooking. They're are way too many to choose from.
So I just closed my eyes and pointed.
Just kidding, I didn't.
I chose to scraplift a card from Christina.
I always love her work.

Take a look at Christina's work.
She does a great job and really makes things look very easy.

Don't forget to visit Scrap Tiffany to see what the other designers
have created or should I say copied for this week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap Tiffany "Thrifty Thursday"

Today was my day over at Tiffany's to share a Thrifty Thursday Thrill.
I am going to show you how to make plastic bag pages.

Here's what you do....
First start out with one of these...
I know we all have these everywhere in our houses. At our house we use them for just about everything from dog poop to taking food to a BBQ. Just as long as you don't use the same bag for those two things, then you're good!!
And I know all us Target shoppers have even more lurking around our house.

That's all there is to it.
Don't forget you can do so much to these "pages". You can stamp, ink, paint, cut a cute edge, cut out shapes, or whatever else you can think of.
I am sure there are plenty of people that can/will find plenty to do with these.

Hope you enjoyed the "thrill" for Thursday.
Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap Tiffany "Vintage Challenge"

This week at Tiffany the challenge was "Vintage".
Although, I realize there are a lot of manufacturers out there that produce
vintage product, but whenever I hear vintage, I think 7Gypsies.
Recently, at my LSS I took a class to learn how to make these houses.
I love their vintage papers, and embellishments.
So I thought this was perfect for this challenge.
Here it is......

This is the roof that comes off and is a mini book.
I love this map paper and there is also dictionary paper inside it too.

Thanks for stopping by today to go back in time with all the vintage products.
Go check out the other designer's on Tiffany to see the other time capsules.

Encouraging words!!

It's been a little bit since I have posted but I wanted to pop in and post this quote I found on Jessica Sprague today...it really spoke to me and thought I would share.

Quote, from C.S. Lewis:

“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)

Sometimes we don't understand all the why's and what's in our life journey, this is just a reminder that we don't always see the forest for the trees in our life. Sometimes it even "feels" like the wild fires that burn those trees.

God is a BIG God and he does. Our job is to trust Him and we will be so happy with the results.

Just wanted to share a thought to chew on for the day or I should say, not just for today but for every day!!!

Have a great weekend!!!

ps...it's really hard to believe there are no pictures on this post. I do believe that is a first!!!

Scrap Tiffany "Hybrid" Challenge

Our Tiffany Challenge for this week was to create a "Hybrid"
project. If you are not familiar with the term Hybrid, it basically means to
use something digital and combine it with your normal paper supplies.
Easy enough, computer's are such a part of the American day anymore, that it makes it almost hard to choose from the digi seleections.

I had a birthday party to go to yesterday, so I combined my
Tiffany project and the card I was giving to Bethany.
Here's what I created...

I am really having fun with cards lately.
They are quick, easy and pack a lot of punch in a small package.

Sometimes with Hybrid you have to really look to find what is digital.
For this project, the digital parts are the circle sentiment, envelope shape, and the crown shaped card(it folds open from the bottom and is attached at the tip of the crown).

I printed the shapes, and then embellished with
ink, trim, mist, stones, and a brad.

Then, when I printed the envelope shape, I inked the edges, and used Smooch Spritz and a mask for the letter on the front.

Bethany loved her card. She is "The Princess" in their home.
Other than little Maxine the princess dog. haha!

Make sure you stop by Tiffany's and see the
other creations from the rest of the team.

Thanks for popping in. Leave a comment so I know you were here.
Have a great week!
