Encouraging words!!

It's been a little bit since I have posted but I wanted to pop in and post this quote I found on Jessica Sprague today...it really spoke to me and thought I would share.

Quote, from C.S. Lewis:

“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)

Sometimes we don't understand all the why's and what's in our life journey, this is just a reminder that we don't always see the forest for the trees in our life. Sometimes it even "feels" like the wild fires that burn those trees.

God is a BIG God and he does. Our job is to trust Him and we will be so happy with the results.

Just wanted to share a thought to chew on for the day or I should say, not just for today but for every day!!!

Have a great weekend!!!

ps...it's really hard to believe there are no pictures on this post. I do believe that is a first!!!

Scrap Tiffany "Hybrid" Challenge

Our Tiffany Challenge for this week was to create a "Hybrid"
project. If you are not familiar with the term Hybrid, it basically means to
use something digital and combine it with your normal paper supplies.
Easy enough, computer's are such a part of the American day anymore, that it makes it almost hard to choose from the digi seleections.

I had a birthday party to go to yesterday, so I combined my
Tiffany project and the card I was giving to Bethany.
Here's what I created...

I am really having fun with cards lately.
They are quick, easy and pack a lot of punch in a small package.

Sometimes with Hybrid you have to really look to find what is digital.
For this project, the digital parts are the circle sentiment, envelope shape, and the crown shaped card(it folds open from the bottom and is attached at the tip of the crown).

I printed the shapes, and then embellished with
ink, trim, mist, stones, and a brad.

Then, when I printed the envelope shape, I inked the edges, and used Smooch Spritz and a mask for the letter on the front.

Bethany loved her card. She is "The Princess" in their home.
Other than little Maxine the princess dog. haha!

Make sure you stop by Tiffany's and see the
other creations from the rest of the team.

Thanks for popping in. Leave a comment so I know you were here.
Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Nanny Bethany!!!

Today is our Nanny's Bethany's Birthday!!
So I thought it would be fun to share some various pictures
of her on her special day. However, I didn't realize how many pictures I actually have of her. haha!
Why should I have to choose right? So get ready for a picture heavy post.

Happy Birthday Bethany!!!
You've have been a part of our lives for about 4-5 years now.
Don't quote me on the numbers though.
We had prayed and prayed for someone like you to
assist us in taking care of our children.
And boy, did we get our answer to prayer.

You have been with us during some great times in our
lives and many times that have not been so great.
No matter what you've always been a positive light,
not to just my children, but to me as well.
You are a great example of a Godly woman.

You've seen us all happy, mad, sad, glad, and bad, but
you've never changed your perspective towards us.
You've even been in the delivery room with our last one.
And you still show us love!! Amazing!! haha!

Thank you for being an inspiration to me and my children.
We love you from here to the moon!!!
We know that the past years we've known you are only the beginning
of a lasting friendship, that is more like family.
We know that you have a great future ahead of you and
you will be a success in whatever you put your hand to.
We will be right with you along the way watching you grow and become
everything God called you to be.
You will be a great mother to your children.
Since you have helped us create our great children, now as our kids grow you will have your own Nanny to choose from. haha!

Have a blessed and happy day!
We love you bunches!!!

So let's take a stroll down memory lane.

Bethany and Addi on the first day home from the hospital.

Addi's first Easter at Grandma's house.

Kameron's Birthday party 2008.

Shine's football game.

The girls having concert fun.

Funny Face!

Brooklin & Bethany at the lake.

Her very first house.

Their very own tile at the Disneyland entrance!
Yes, I made them lay on the ground for this picture.

Hey, how'd this picture get in here. That's not Bethany!
Well, that's Bethany's dad, Kevin, he's the one on the right.

Bethany at Disneyland.

The girls being happy at the happiest place on earth.

On a ride at Disneyland.

Shine driving Bethany.

How do these pictures keep getting in here?
What's wrong with this picture?
Uh, hey Mister...you're in my stroller.
Look at Brooklin staring.
Oh well, back to Bethany. Since It's her day.

One of B's favorites Mad Hatter!!

Something must be wrong with my computer.
These funny pictures of Kevin keep popping up.

B & B!! Both are very imaginative!!

Hey who are these two?
Me & Bethany's Mom Bernie, Best Friends.

Me and B!

Bethany and Kameron and Shine. Christmas 2007.

Kameron used to be in love with Bethany.
He still loves her of course, just not so outward about it.

All dressed up for a night on the town.

Bethany's first kiss.

Gosh, there is another picture of Kevin.
It looks like someone is all tuckered out!!!

Pictures of Bethany would not be complete without Disneyland pictures.

Kevin is that a spit wad straw?? Hmm?
Look's like you are going to get in trouble.
Look behind you. hahaha!
I love that look!!

Bethany made Shine go on this oh so scary ride.
It was way off the ground at least 10-20 feet.

Bethany pushes Shine to the limit. lol!

The girls before the ride.

We so love, love Goofy.
Not the one on the right, but the one in the middle.

Happy Birthday Bethany!
We love you so much and are so thankful to have you in our lives.
Thank you for being there for my children at times
when we couldn't physically be there.
Now as the kids grow, you are there for them in many other ways.
You have been a blessing to my children,
which in turn is a huge blessing to us.
I know God will bless you with children of your own.
It will be great to watch you grow and become a parent to your children.
Thank you again for being a great example!!

We love you and are blessed by you.
Have a wonderful day today with LOTS of presents!!

ScrapTiffany "Naked Chipboard" Challenge-Part 2

This week's challenge at Scrap Tiffany is
"Naked Chipboard".
It was kind of difficult for me to leave chipboard without any paint, ink,
paper, or anything. I just couldn't stand it.
I mean, I wouldn't go outside naked so why would I
leave my chipboard uncovered?
Well, this is as naked as it gets, at least for my chipboard anyway!!

Supplies used:
Patterned paper & Friend Coupon-Bo Bunny;
Chipboard Brackets-Bazzill pieces;
White Cardstock-Bazzill
Misc., Buttons, Ric Rack Ribbon

Great challenge Tiffany!!
Really MADE me get out of my box...just not naked.heehee!

Go on over to Scrap Tiffany to see how creatively, naked
the rest of the Design team is.
You won't regret it!!!

You!

Here is a recent digital layout I created in my
Photoshop Class with Jessica Sprague.
I said it before but I'm saying it again.
Jessica's classes are so easy to understand and a lot of fun.
If you're wanting to get into digital, head her way.
I promise you won't be disappointed.
Here is my layout.

This is a layout of me and my husband.
He is a great man. He allows me to be who I am everyday,
supports me, encourages and believes in me along the way
whatever that may mean.
Thanks Hugo. You're a great husband, father and friend.
I love you!!!

Don't forget to head on over to Tiffany to see what
type of "Thrifty Thursday" idea Katie has to show us.
There are always great ideas on there.
