Scrap Tiffany Tuesday Tutorial

Tiffany's calendar for today has my name down for today's Tuesday Tutorial.

I decided to show you how to make the crepe paper flowers that I included on my layout from the "Crepe Paper" challenge about a month ago on ScrapTiffany.
If you didn't get a chance to look at all the different
ways to create with crepe paper on the you need to go check it out.
Trust me, you will never throw away those left over streamer rolls again.

Here we go...
It's so easy. You will be surprised.
You only need 3 supplies:
Sewing machine
Thread
Crepe Paper

That sounds easy enough right? Well, let's get started...

Can you think of a million possibilities with these? They kind of remind me of cupcake liners, but that's another post for another day. ;))

Ok, so have you been to the party store recently.
I LOVE the party store and I love to plan parties.
There are soooo many different colors and prints of crepe paper streamers.
You can layer these flowers to make them however you want them to be.
Don't forget, the more narrow you cut the strip AND the shorter you make the length, the smaller the flower will end up.

The center is a whole other design preference opportunity.
Brads, stones, metal, buttons, whatever else you can think of.
Even a tiny little crepe paper flower in a contrasting color would be great!!

Well, go on and get out your old party supplies and make some flowers with it.
If you make some, email me some pictures.
I love to see the different perspectives people have on creating the same items.

Thanks for stopping by..go get another cup of coffee so you
can finish your blog hopping for today. You know you want to.

Scrap Tiffany "Girl Power" Challenge

The challenge this week with Scrap Tiffany is "Girl Power".
What a fun challenge this week.
We have 3 girls from ages of 8 months to 15 years.
I love my girls. We have such a great time together. Each one is different from the other.
I created a book of my girls for this weeks challenge.

I really enjoyed creating with this line of Bo Bunny Patterned paper. It's so bright and colorful.
It seemed to fit the personality of all my girls.
Get into your girl power today and head on over to Scrap Tiffany to see what the other
designers have created this week. If you create something girly this week send a picture of it to Tiffany. We would love to see it.
Loved this challenge!!!!

Enjoy your holiday festivities this week.

Thanksgiving!!

Ok so I am a little behind. I know this is a Thanksgiving post, but I have been super busy. I am already into Christmas stuff now but I must post about Thanksgiving.
So here goes....
We went to our dear friends house The Mortons.
We miss our family in TN but we are so very thankful to not have to spend our holidays alone. These good friends have become our family, since we can't be with ours right now.
We started the day with a prayer.
Then we ate and enjoyed each others company the rest of the day.
Here's the pictures...

Kevin praying.

This is Adoration's first Thanksgiving..

There was so much food there. If you got just one spoon of each item you needed two plates.

Bethany's cornbread salad. So yummy!!

No Thanksgiving is complete without a sweet potato casserole with golden marshmallows.

Darlene and Addi bug.

Brooklin.

Bernie and her mom Mary Jane. We call her Gma.

Doug, Gma, and Bernadette.

Shine and Addi.

Alisha and Grandpa's birthday celebration.

That's just a few of the pics from our wonderful day.
Thank you again to Kevin and Bernadette for having our family over once again
to be a part of your family celebration.

Scrap Tiffany Food/Recipes Challenge

This week's challenge at Scrap Tiffany is "Food/Recipes".
What a perfect challenge for this time of year.
I love the holidays and all the new recipes that come out and I love the old traditional ones even more.
I created this recipe box with some of our traditional family
recipes that our family enjoys every year.
I am excited because it is almost time to eat some of our favorites again.
Funny, if you think about it, most of us only eat our favorites once a year.
Sounds weird huh?

Here's my project for this week...

Digital kit: Shabby Princess-"Holiday Recipe Collection"
Red leather flower: Making Memories
Misc: ribbon, buttons, brad

Last year I downloaded this digital kit for free, I had forgotten all about it.

Here's the link...Shabby Princess.
They have tons of free digital downloads and kits to purchase that are super cute and very inexpensive.
They also have a ton of digi tutorials that are super easy and also free of charge.

This is a digital kit that includes the box, recipe cards, tags and other digital pieces that you can add digitally.
I typed the recipes, played with all the digital pieces, added a photo of the recipe, and printed it out right on my personal printer including the box. Then, I added ribbon, buttons, a flower, brad and mounted the recipe cards on red cardstock.

You don't even have to do anything digital, you could just print it as is and hand write your recipes and add your cute embellishments.
What a great little hostess gift to give at a holiday party,
or a bride to be gift for the holiday.
The best recipes are the ones that have been tried and
tested by the people close to you.

So we can't have a food/recipe challenge without sharing a favorite recipe...
My family loves these Snicker Doodles. I've tried other recipes and this one tops them all. I promise if you like Snickerdoodles, you won't eat just one.
Enjoy!!!
Go print this kit and get it started on a holiday recipe box before Thursday.
You can whip it up the box and then make the Snickerdoodles to give to your hostess for the holiday, then give decorated blank cards for them to add their favorites.

It really went pretty quick.
Have a great holiday week.
I love it my kids are home with me every day this week.
No School!! Yay!!
Our plans are to decorate for Christmas, watch Christmas movies, bake and snuggle.
Oh yea!! Don't forget to end the week with Black Friday!!
Oh yes..we are headed out very early, so don't eat too much turkey the day before or you won't want to get up.
I love that day, the hustle and bustle starting point.

If you try the recipe box or the cookie recipe,
please let me know what you thought of them.
