Scrap Tiffany Holiday Blog Hop

Yay!! The Scrap Tiffany Blog Hop is here!!!!
Thanks for hoppin' in on our fun!!
I promise you won't be disappointed.

If you arrived from Keely's blog, then you are on the right track. If not, then you might want to start at the beginning so you don't miss any holiday inspiration.

I'm excited because there's a ton of blog hop holiday inspiration AND because this is the first Christmas project for me this year.
It will just get the holidays started for me. I must say, I was quite surprised when I heard Christmas music playing on the radio the other day. I hadn't even taken down my Halloween decor yet. Now I have and my mind has started shifting to the holiday season.
On to the blog hop fun...

For my project, I decided to make a card/tag holder out of a file folder.
Just a normal school folder. I got mine at Wal Mart for pocket change.
Here we go...

The front cover.

The inside cover.

The fun cards and tags.

A couple close-ups of the tags and cards.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper: 7Gypsies-"Ville" and "Pays";
Tags:Teresa Collins-"Gift Tags"; "25 Christmas" Teresa Collins- "Countdown til Christmas";
Red Santa Transparency-Creative Imaginations
Embossed paper: Cuttlebug
Metal Strip:Making Memories
Scallop punch
Misc: Red folder (Walmart);Black Cardstock; Ribbon; Velcro

Mini instructions:
Cut the folder 5 1/2 inches down from the top
left hand side of the folder.
Score and fold down 1 inch at the top right hand side.
Cover with paper and embellishments.
If you have any other questions about this project, please feel free to email me.

Well, that's my holiday project for this Blog Hop!!
Hope you are hopping away with some inspiration to make this project or
turn it into your own.
Always with Christmas comes presents, so
leave a comment AND become a follower on my blog
...
Santa will give away a nice Christmas surprise on Wednesday after the elves have completed all their holiday projects.

I will announce the winner on Wednesday!!

Head on over to Kristina's to check out her project.

You will not be disappointed.
Thanks again for joining us in this hop!!

Halloween Mail

Well, Aunt Sheri has done it again!!!
It seems like every holiday big or small or even not a holiday, "just because" seems to sometimes be a holiday for Aunt Sheri.
We come home one day this week and this cute box decorated in Halloween garb was sitting on our front porch.
She had told Kameron and Brooklin to keep looking for the brown truck man.
So the two of them were fighting to go check the mail all week.
Then it showed up on our porch.
When they see that decorated box(every box that comes from Aunt Sheri, comes decorated, ALOT!!)
The kids love it!!!
They fight over who will pick it up, who gets the scissors, who cuts it open and who gets to open the flaps and finally who gets to look inside first.
It is quite the fiasco!!
But of course, anything this family does is quite the event.
So on to the prize!!!
Let me add, it always seems that Aunt Sheri chooses to send the prize for them that I don't like. I think there is a pattern here. Hhhmm???
So here are the pictures.

See the cute decorated box she sends.

Shine cutting the box open.

And reading the letter. Yes, a letter is also always included. But not just any letter, oh no!! This letter is Aunt Sheri style...complete with whimsical colored letters to match the occasion(these were Halloween looking letters), colored clip art, and most important content that will bring tears to the Grinch's eyes.
The kids always feel so special.
When Aunt Sheri speaks these kids listen!!!
This is what she sent to them...halloween houses to decorate.
Do you know the contents of these crazy things.
Enough to send any mom to the moon.
Frosting, sprinkles, mess, mess and more mess!!!
All I said when they opened the box was,
"OH CRAP!!! I hate those things!!Those are for Aunt Sheri to do with you not me!!!"
So cute huh??
House #2

House #3

And House #4!!

Is she crazy? Has Aunt Sheri lost her mind?
Has she counted my children lately? Does she know how old they are?
Hhhmmm? Could someone please clue her in?!!!
Are there any other mom's out there with me on my side???

Ok, ok, stop the drama!!!
Thank you so very much Aunt Sheri!! The kids are so excited to make their Halloween houses.
Really, you always make them all feel so special, like they are the only kid out there in the world. No matter how far away you are, you still always make the holidays special for them, and any other day for that matter.
Thank you for being there for them(and me).
They all love you very much!!!
I love you even more!!
Cheers to the best Sis there is!!!

He said "YES"!!!!

My Shine is getting so grown up. I can't believe it.
I'm so proud of her.
What do all these things have in common?

Yes, Sadies!! I can't believe it but yes it is my daughter going to Sadies.
The worst part is...with a BOY!! Or should I say a boy that looks like a man.
That is scary. This used to seem so far away. But it's here and it's here now!

Thanks to Nanny Bethany this whole thing was planned and done within a few hours. I left the kids at Bernie's one night for a few hours and this project was done when we came back. Bethany and Shine planned, and planned, then B took Shine to Target to get all the stuff.
I couldn't believe it. I seem to be slow with this stuff. Thanks B!!
We probably would still be fumbling around with it. Perhaps I was thinking it would just go away. I guess not.

Well, this boy is a football player. He's actually a sophomore playing on the varsity team. They are very good friends within their circle of friends.
That makes things better, I think. Ok, fine...just let me think it for now.
However, they are all going in a group, that literally are a group of friends that hang out together.
His football number is 30. So they got footballs, attached bags of candy with, you guessed it, 30 pieces in the bags, and made a sign with 30 reasons why he should go with her to Sadies.
I could think of a couple or more as to why he shouldn't. HHmmm? Maybe all the people that will hurt him if he does anything wrong. haha!
Shine had asked one of their mutual friends to deliver a football with candy during each class on Friday before the game that night.

Here's the 1st Clue...

Hint #2

Hint #3
Hint #4
The sign was delivered last class with the final football clue.

Reasons #1-15

Reasons #16-27

Reasons #28-30

That night at the game I was instructed by Bethany and Shine to deliver the 30 orange and black balloons with the football with the message:
Sadies?
November 6, 2010
Sam
So of course, I did.
That was fun to get all those balloons in my car with my 3 little ones.

This is the two of them right after she walked up to him with the last delivery.
He was obviously pleased and most impressed that she would go to so much trouble to ask him.
Ok, so the no shirt was not planned by either party.
I guess it just adds to the picture. Right?
He even brought the sign to the football game with him.
Cute.

Here's the two of them
David and Shine.

So all the girls decided they would go shop the next day for their shirts.
Yes, they went as a large group that stayed together at the mall.
They all are such good friends.
Fun group!

Ryan, Mikayla, Shine, David(with a shirt on), Zack, Aaliyah, Courtney
(missing Mallik, he was meeting them at the mall)

Shine and David shopping for their shirts.
(sorry for the bad picture, I wasn't there and they used a camera phone, I'll take what I can get).

Thanks Bethany for your help. We are so thankful to have you help us.
I have never done this before and sure would not know what to do without your counseling. But don't worry, we're not done yet. We still have a lot of years and a lot of events to go. haha!

I will post pictures after the dance of them all together.
We have a fun night planned.

Have a good rest of the weekend.

Scrap Tiffany "Thrifty Thursday"

This week is my turn at the Thrifty Thursday at Scrap Tiffany.
The project I selected to do is very quick and easy and most likely you have the items right in your kitchen.
Kitchen!! Some may scream at that word.
I promise this project does not involve a spoon, bowl or even heat.
The only food it involves is the food you might snack on while you work on your creation.

So let's get started.
This is what we are making....

Doesn't it remind you of those coffee filter flowers
you used to make in school?
They also remind me of the tissue paper balls POMS.
They are neither. These are made with napkins.

Here are the supplies you will need:
3 ply napkins
twist ties
(from the bag of bread you had for toast this morning)
scissors

Gather those supplies and you can create some darn cute flowers.

Note: The center napkin could be a cocktail size napkin. I just used a large one and cut it down a little.

Wouldn't these flowers be great with printed napkins?
They could be clustered together, or put on a string to use as garland hanging on a wall, or on a table for decoration. You can even cut the edges with different types of decorative scissors.
There are lots of possibilities with these little napkin flowers.

Would love to see what you have done with these little flowers.
If you make some email a picture to me.
I would love to see what ideas you have with them.

Speaking of deals, look at what I found.
I found this lamp at Goodwill a few months back.
It was only $2.00. Yes, it works and everything.
It just needs a shade.
Well, that's the best part sometimes is finding a fun shade.
I've had it put away for the past few months. I wasn't even really searching for a shade. It just wasn't a priority at the time.
You can always find a spot for a cute black lamp.

Well, our Walmart is remodeling and they are clearancing out stuff from every department. They reprice it for clearance and they move it all out to the garden section.
Every time we are there we must walk through the garden section. It's fun sometimes to just look anyway.
Well, that was my plan until I saw this...

Isn't she a beaut!!! Thanks Clark!!!
(oh my, my mind knows when it almost time for the Christmas Vacation movie)

Well, it was on clearance for $4.00.
What??? Hmmm! As I'm holding it, and looking to see the size of how it attaches, I am thinking of the lamp from Goodwill.
So I buy it to try it on that cute black lamp.
Guess what??
Look at it now!!! Yes, it fits and I think it looks great!!
It sits on the table just inside the entry way.
A very cute lamp all for $6.00.
Talk about thrifty. I think it is one of my favorites lamps in my house.
Told ya bargains are fun!!!

Well, I've got just one more.
This is the best one yet...
During our Walmart visit, I also found a cute clock on the clearance section. It is about 23 inches around. I've been wanting a clock for my crafty studio. Guess what the colors were perfect.

Guess how much this big clock was?
$1.00!!!! No I didn't type that wrong. One dollar!!
I was floored. nothing wrong with it.
Just someone wanted to get rid of it.
I was happy to take it off their hands especially at that price.
So it's new home is right above my magnetic board in
my craft/scrap/sew studio.

Well, that's it for me today.
Thanks for stopping in.
Have a great two days before the weekend.

Til next Time with T!!!
