Amazing Race Final Project #7-Completion

Well, this is the last leg of this Amazing Race!! I have had such a blast with this journey.
This is my final assignment #7..we were to create a party ensemble. Complete with Sign, centerpiece, party favors, invitations, and thank you's.
My mom has always taught me and my sis how to give parties through-out the years. She always said, "If anything is worth doing, it's worth doing right."
So this assignment was perfect for me.
My family always gives parties and we don't need an excuse to have one.
Sometimes, my mom's teaching drives me and my sis a little crazy, because sometimes we just wanted to make it simple and just drag out the paper products.
We have been better at simplifying over the years.
Thanks Mom for all your fabulous training.

On to the submission #7:

This is the overview of the table and party setting.
Close-up shot of the table setting.

Jumbo Cootie Catcher Candy holder.
I love these things as a kid, now I can just use them for a candy holder and then play with it when I'm done.

Once again a full shot of the party setting.
So this is the end of the Rusty Pickle Amazing Race.
I can't believe how fast it went. It seems like yesterday when I turned in my original submissions and waiting for the UPS man. haha!
I have to say I am so honored to have been selected as a finalist for such a great contest.
Rusty Pickle has always been one of my favorites for years, so for me to be able to create and play with all their supplies on this level has been the most memorable events for my scrap passion. I would do it again in a second. I have learned so much about my scrapping and me thru this. Not to mention, have connected with some great new scrapping friends.
Hats off to Julie H., Julie W., Jodi, Beth, Noeleen, Mandie, Tiff, Cathleen, Dawn, Sarah, Pamela. You all are amazing artists and I wish you all the best.

Thank you Rusty Pickle for all you have done to create such an Amazing contest for your selection of your design team.
Lance and Tasha, you have an awesome company
including product, service, and people.
Tracey you have been amazing to work with. You haven't missed a beat..You have been there every second of the way for each of us, no matter the time difference.
You did a great job!! Thank you!!! Hopefully, we didn't drive you too crazy.

All my friends and family that have supported either thru texts, comments, emails, phone calls and all other support.

Bernadette and Bethany, thank you sooo much for all your support...you've kept the kids, supported me 110% with kudo's and always being interested in the next step or how the projects were all coming. A couple times you fed our family and gave us the much needed break that I needed from my scrapping to just clear my head.
I love you both dearly and am sooo thankful that we have you in our lives.

Lastly, but not least, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all my family, near and far....
Sis, thanks for all your technical help. I seem to need it especially when I am stressing on a deadline, I hope you know I didn't mean to get short at times. I tend to get overwhelmed sometimes. You've supported me through this all the way..the comments, texts and uplifting words. I love it that you have gone thru this race with me and even pushed me to even apply in the 1st place.
I love you dearly!

Mom, thanks for all your late nights or early morning company you gave me. It was nice to spend all that time with you. I know you missed a lot of hours of sleep just to keep me company. The nights you said you had to go to bed but you sacrificed your entire nights sleep to visit with me. Oh yea, all the coffee you brought to me upstairs too. Thanks, I love you!!!

Hugo:
Babe, thanks for encouraging me to even apply for this race in the first place, thanks for all the stops you made (picking/dropping kids to various locations, going to the scrap store or Joanne's to pick up all those items more than one time; cardstock, adhesive, etc.),
making dinner, folding laudry, cleaning up, and all the missed nights of me going to bed with you and you waking up in the am to find me still scrapping and never have left my space and one of my favorites, the midnight runs to Starbucks,so I could stay awake long enough to finish!!
You are truly an amazing husband!!!
Couldn't have and wouldn't have wanted to do it without you!!!
I love you!!!

Well, I think I covered everyone...I feel like I just won the Grammy's or something. lol!!

Thanks for following the race via blog, facebook, or the sites listed all the comments that were left were read one by one.
Tracey says we should find out the results of who made the design team pretty soon, so as soon as I know more, I will post here first, well, second after I tell my family.

Check back soon!!!
ps...sorry bout the extra long post..but it's been an extra long journey.

Amazing Race Final Clue/Project #7

This is the clue we found at the Rusty Pickle site yesterday for our final clue:

Clue took the creative racers over to www.scrapbookdoodle.com where they have threaded and weaved all sorts of beautiful things. Each one of you are in Rusty Pickle heaven so it's time to give you clue number 7...

Get on outback, cause it's time to scrap near the small windmill by the old tin shed. SO search up high or search down under, spread your wings and begin to wonder. The dream is there amongst the swirls, just waiting to be found by some eager girls. SO get on outback where the skies are blue, cause that is where you'll find the clue.
Enjoy the last leg of the race everyone!

The clue was to go to:

www.scrappingoutback.com

Amazing Race Project #6-Completion!!

This is project #6 out of 7..so one left to complete before the race is over.
This assignment was a fabric bound recipe book.
I decided since it was a small book(4x6), but not in the number of pages, I would create a book of "Dips, Drinks, N Desserts".
This was a fun project for me for a few reasons...#1. I love to cook, 2. I love to scrap, and last but not least, 3. I love the RP Paper.
So how could I not have fun with this one.

The paper line for this book is Rusty Pickle "French Market".
I love the colors, actually, purple is my least favorite color, however, I like it with the other colors in this paper.
Each recipe is removable, so when it's time to prepare the recipe, you just have to pull the recipe out of the pocket and use that in the kitchen, not have the entire book in the kitchen.
Other than that, all product used on this book is Rusty Pickle...the paper, the file folder book pages, the chipboard, the stickers, the cut-out coupons, the fabric binding..with the exception of the cardstock which is Bazzil.
Here are the pictures...there are two pictures, for the pages that have a recipe on them, so you could see the recipe itself and that it is removable.
Enjoy!!!
This is the front cover..

Dips...
This recipe is "Confetti Dip" from my friend Kathy...very yummy!! Thanks Kathy!!

This recipe is for "BLT Dip"..I got it from Samantha's Gma in Wisconsin when she was a little girl. It's very special to us.

Drinks...

Desserts...

That's my recipe book..I have way more recipes than that, but I like this little book, it only holds a few.
Hope you are following the race, we are just about to get our last clue/assignment. Then we will know who makes the Design Team.
There are so many great designers on this team. Anyone of them could handle it.

If you stopped by for a peek, leave a comment so I know you were here.
Come and see what the next clue is very soon.

Amazing Race-Clue/Assignment #6

I just realized that I didn't post Clue/Assignment #6...guess I got caught up with the 4th right after we finished with #5...here it is:
This is the clue we got from Rusty Pickle blog:
We are sure that this challenge sent the racers hearts all a flutter when they headed over to www.amillionmemories.com following the last clue. The amazing racers were asked to create an album with our new heart and wing album. Check out the gallery at AMM to see their fab albums!
Now we don't want you to get in a fix ... it's time to post clue number 6
I watch the world pass me by
A pen in my hand to doodle as I lie
It wiggles and squiggles, never a line
Flowers and stars designed in a Scrapbook and Doodle time.

Be Creative!
So that clue took us to:
On the forum we found our next assignment...
Welcome Rusty Pickle Amazing Race Finalists!
Scrapbook Doodle will have the 6th leg of the Race (of 7 legs total) … starting at noon, July 4th and ending at noon, July 7th (Mountain Standard Time)Your Assignment is…
“Create a fabric bound Recipe Album with the Tab Album and the French Market line.
Please be sure to post a link in this thread to your gallery post.”
So there you have it...our 2nd to last assignment.
This is been so much fun I hate to say that...well maybe, just maybe, it won't be my last assignment from RP.
I love you Rusty Pickle!!! No matter what the final outcome is.
So keep following the race, and check in at the sites where we have been and are headed to...it's great fun to view everyone's designs.
Please leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.
Next time, maybe I'll serve you some snacks. lol!!

Amazing Race Project 5-Completion

This is assignment #5 for the Amazing Race.
We our clue was to go to www.amillionmemories.com.
The instructions we found there were to create a mini-album using the heart/wings chipboard book and the Pirate Princess paper line.
I love this paper...it is so easy to create with, and the book is simply wonderful.
The pictures of my version of this book are below....
I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed creating it!!!!

This is the cover of the book.
I used Rusty Pickle Pirate Princess patterned paper, coupons, stickers and chipboard pieces. There is a web effect on the pink paper on the heart of every page...that is called Webbing Spray by Krylon. I love it, I have it in black and white. Also on the sword, I used Making Memories "steel" paint, once dry, I then followed up with Making Memories glitter glaze in silver.
Glossy Accents and Sugar Coating glitter, on center of sword, and pirate doo rag.

1st and 2nd page.

There you have it. The book is a little deceiving, it took a lot longer than expected. I did enjoy creating it.

Next stop...clue #6.
Keep following the race...we're almost to the end..don't stop now!!!

Til next Time with T!!!!
