Amazing Race-Project One Completion!!!

Project One layout completion for the Rusty Pickle-"Amazing Race".

As per our first set of instructions, we used the Game Time paper line.
Everything used on this layout is Rusty Pickle brand with the exception of the red cardstock, even the date stamp used is RP.
The story behind the layout:
The subject for this layout is my daughter Samantha and her 8th grade cheer team.
She made the competition team, then their team placed for the "USA Nationals" hosted by Disneyland in March 2009.
Once there, out of 16 teams they competed against they took 1st Place!!!!
We are so proud of her and her entire team!!!
This was this school's 3-4 time win at 1st place.
Close-ups of each page.
This paper line was fun to play with.
Thanks Rusty Pickle for the opportunity and
Embellish-online for hosting our 1st leg of the race.
You both are "Amazing".

Movin on to Leg 2 of "The Amazing Race"!

Amazing Race Start Time!!!

The Official Start time of "The Amazing Race" for Rusty Pickle is tomorrow, Wednesday, June 24th, 12:00 pm (mountain time).
Here is our 1st set of instructions...

Message from Tracey Donnelly Locher,(Race Coordinator):

Here we go, guys!
Instructions - Part 1...
Tomorrow, June 24th at noon MST, a clue will be posted on the Rusty Pickle blog. Read the clue and you will discover the name of a scrappy internet site.
Go to that site and look for a thread in one of their message board forums that say something like, "Welcome Rusty Pickle Amazing Race Finalsists."
Once you know you have the right site, register immediatly. Some of the sites will take a few minutes to get you approved, so register right away.
The thread in the message board will be where you will get your assignment, where you can ask any questions, were you can support each other, and where others can watch and comment on the Race. In that thread, there will also be information about, or a link to, the gallery where you will be uploading the pictures of your project when they are complete. You will also be given the deadline... the time when this project is due and the next clue will be given.

Instructions - Part 2..

The deadline will always be at noon (MST) on the assigned day (sorry about that, oversees gals!) The galleries will be just for the Race projects that each of the scrappy sites have set up for the Race.
I am so glad to see you are all working together already, and trying to make sure nobody is left behind with the clues. You WILL NEED EACH OTHER during the Race, so don't be afraid to ask for help. If you need ANYTHING, you have my personal email or you can comment on the Facebook page.
I have posted the list of "extras" that have been approved. Also, feel free to post any of your work, clues, thoughts, anything on your own blogs. This is YOUR Race, too... ENJOY the process. And don't forget to breathe. You are all going to ROCK OUR SOCKS OFF and make Rusty Pickle proud!

Don't forget to have your family/friends check out the RP blog, too, as we will be having give-a-ways to help keep this party going for the next 2+ weeks!

Good Luck!

So there you have it, my first set of instructions. If anyone out there is interested in following the Race, showing your support or winning any of the giveaways, go to:

My Shine!!!

I have great news about my Shine!!!
She just found out today she was nominated
Cheer Captain for her Freshman year of High School!!

This is a great accomplishment. When you go to a new school, of course you have your friends that you went to school with the prior year, but in addition, you have a whole group of people you don't know that have come from other schools.
They all voted and out she came the Captain.

Shine, me and dad are sooo proud of you!!!
You always strive to do what is right and always "shine" in the middle of a group. You've had some tough decisions this year and have made it thru to the next round. We know this year will be no exception.
We are very proud of the young lady you have become.
You are really just beginning your life and we know you will go on to do great things.
There is a reason we have called you Shine your whole life.
Again, we are sooo proud of the person you have become!!!
You are one amazing girl!!
Keep up the good work!!!
(ok, enough from mom, can you tell all my buttons are popping?)

I love you my dear, Shine!!!
(If you know Shine, give her a Congrats shout today!!! Oooh Rah!!)

Pickle Contestant & Pickle Box Contents!!

So some of you out there may not have heard the latest news yet...I turned in some scrapbook designs to Rusty Pickle(for you non scrappers..RP is a major manufacturing company for scrap products) and have been selected to participate in the finals of the Design Team contest.
I know, I can't believe it...the top 12. It is such an honor for me to be a part of this contest. I have always loved their products and now I get to play with them and create.
The team of 12 will be competing in what they call the "Amazing Race" over the next 2-3 weeks. You can visit www.rustypickle.typepad.com to take a look.
Scroll down to see the names of the top 12...
Once we recieve our mystery clues for each item, we will know what to create and with what product line.
After we do that for a couple weeks, they will then select the top 6 to be on their Design Team.
That basically means that they will send you product and you will design with their product each month.

This is me and the chocolate Santa delivering my much awaited "Pickle" box. I couldn't wait to dig into it..its a big box of delicious paper goodies.
The poor man must have thought I won the Publisher Clearing House Sweepstakes the way we acted when he drove up.
Hugo ran out to stop him for a picture, I ran out yelling at Hugo to stop him and Ash ran out with her camera to take the picture.
He must not have been to messed up about it cause he was fixing his hair. haha!
Thank you Mr. UPS man!! (Ash you cut off his head).

This is me and my box...

Cutting the box open...

Inside the box...yes, it has wings, that's a sign. lol!!

The first thing a girl is to do...spread it all out as big as you can to take in all the colors, smells and deliciousness..
this shows all of it still in the paper packs.

So the next thing is to open up each package and really spread each product line out to look at it individually to get my inspiration rolling.
So that's exactly what I did...twist my arm already.
This is 3 chipboard books, 5 tags, and a huge bag of buttons.

This is their "Chocolate Covered Cherries" line..

So there you have it..the mysterious "Pickle Box"...a total of 9 different paper lines with embellies, in addition to the chipboard books and tags.
I am very excited about this opportunity to create on a greater level with Rusty Pickle.
I will give it 110%. Thanks RP!!!

The race is about to start sometime next week..keep checking back as I will be posting during the race...I have to wait to see if I am able to post my projects on my personal blog.
If not, I will still be posting just to check in...so pop back by, and feel free to leave comments for support.
