Kameron's Award Ceremony

Finally a post!!! Sorry that took so long. I came back from our trip into a full swing week. Haven't had much time til this week. It seems that all my other blog buddies have been busy too. Not too many posts lately. Pretty quiet around the blog post. Come on ladies lets get back to posting. I love to hear what you're all doing.

Yesterday, we went to an awards ceremony at Kameron's school. His teacher had sent an invitation for us to attend. When we got there, Kameron got an award for Citizenship, which was only 3 kids total from his class. So of course we were proud of him.
Then on to the next award...he was then called up for an acedemic award. This award is for students that carry a GPA of 3.5-4.0 with A's and B's, with no more than two B's. Report cards come home on Friday, so we can see the actual GPA results but again, we are very proud of Kameron.

Then yesterday a note came home from his teacher, recommending Kameron for the E.C.L. (Exceptionally Capable Learners) group.

If you are not familiar with that program, it is not GATE but it is like GATE for 1st-3rd graders. Their I.Q. is not tested until they are in 3rd grade. E.C.L. meets every other week and give the students an opportunity to work on a selected subject in greater depth.

The subject selected this year is "Plant Life". The parts of plants and their needs, why we need plants, technology research on the plants and completing web quests, different uses for plants and ways to help Earth.

We are very honored to have Kameron selected for this group as I realize there are only a number of student spots available.
Great job Kameron!!!
Me and Dad are very proud of you and your hard work.
(I know you will read this as you do keep up on all the blogs).

Me and Kameron after the morning awards...(Brooklin likes to be in any picture being taken and of course, Nemo.)

Christmas Decorating 08!!!

So we decorated our house for Christmas...not just the tree but the whole house. My family is such a Christmas family and the kids have been waiting patiently for a couple months now. Seriously, Kameron made me listen to Christmas music in the car about 2 months ago, and Brooklin wanted to get the Christmas stuff out as soon as she saw the first Christmas item in the store and on TV, which anymore is about October.
If anyone needs to get into the Christmas spirit just come on over and we can get you there real quick.
No bah-hum-bug or Grinches at our house...No sir Santa!!!
Here's the fun we had...

These are some of the containers, the remainder are in the family room and breakfast room and around the corner.
1 1/2 sheds devoted to Christmas decor..2 large trees and 5 small, 3 containers stuffed bears, 2 trains(large and small), 8 strands of decorative garland, 10 stands pine garland, years of ornaments for each person, fireplace cover, a variety of picks to stuff anywhere that needs it, 3 gingerbread trees, outside lights and yard decor and of course all the little stuff...no wonder my kids want to decorate for Christmas 2 months earlier than the rest of the world.....We love it!!!

A variety of the picks to place in the tree and here and there....
Putting one large tree together....everyone wants to help....

Dad loves it too...he just won't tell you he does..
Brooklin loves to decorate the bottom of the tree...all ornaments in one spot...we leave it pretty much how the kids decorate it other than the breakable stuff...
Daddy always puts the gingerbread star on top....I love this man!!!

He's fixing the ribbon on the bottom of the star.....
The other big tree in the piano room...

Shine put Brooklin up so she could reach the top of the tree too...
Brooklin helping with the garland on the fireplace...

Brooklin loves her Nemo ornaments...
Shine...she helped a lot this year now that she is older...she's a pro now.

Here's a tradition...every year since we have been married, Hugo puts this particular ornament on..he doesn't put many on but this one for sure. Actually our job is the tree, lights, garland, and ribbon...the kids do most all the ornaments.

I made this ornament in 1st grade and he always puts it at the top of the tree right in front, cause it's a goofy picture of me...he just laughs as he puts it smack in the front for everyone to see...
Kameron soooo loves this time of year....

I caught this video of Brooklin decorating the tree by herself...we had put the tree up and had to wait to decorate it till the next day. Well, Brooklin saw no sense in that...so here she goes...keep in mind, the garland she is pulling out of the box is really old, like it used to be mom's and she gave it to me, cause it's one of my most favorite things on the tree....I remember putting it on the tree when I was Brooklin's age...

We had a great time decorating...we hope you did as well...Brooklin has a message for you as I complete this post.....

Let's sing another...

Check back for pics of all our Christmas decor completed..

Merry Christmas!!!

December Layout!!

This is the last month/layout of my term on the Design Team at the store. It has been a lot of fun and of course, I will still be scrapping otherwise.
I am kind of sad, I really had a great time on the team. I used product that I have never used before or would not have chosen for myself and got out of my Kristi box...Sometimes, we don't know we are in a box until we have to get out of it. However, I will be running again next term...coming soon.
So here is the final layout this term....enjoy!!
This month, instead of a two-page layout...I did a 1 pg and a card. Just to mix it up a bit....
The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee, Sweet Cakes Collection...
The paper, rub-ons, and stickers are all from this paper collection
I love it!!!
Enjoy!!!

Presents Already??!!

We got home the other day and there was a package on the porch...the kids automatically knew who it was from cause...well, it's a little obvious...
See what I mean, for yourself....

This is on every box Aunt Sheri sends to the kids...Brooklin always looks for it...that tells her who it's from..she says, "It says, Aunt Sheri misses you"...

The kids loved this one...we can't wait to torment Unle Rick...
scoot over Unle Rick, we are snuggly Gumps...especially in the cold, on flannel sheets...

This is Brooklin reading the box...

The kids love getting presents from Aunt Sheri...I'm sure everyone at the post office love the boxes...
They're even wrapped...pretty boxes...Is there one for T??

Brooklin always has to go first...

This is not a good picture of her present...it is a cute chipboard purse/book...it is pop up and interactive...I'll have to take some better pictures of it and post them...very different...cute!!

Then Kameron...

He loves these TechDecks....

Shine won't allow video...but pics are not an option in our house...

Ready for her visit to TN...Adorable...did I tell you I love this girl?!!!

Well, that was an early Christmas surprise from Aunt Sheri...the kids loved the presents very much...thanks for thinking of them.

Til next Time with T!!!!
