Homecoming 2010

Well it's that time of year again.
Homecoming 2010.
It seems like we just did this yesterday.
This year Shine wanted us to host for creating and working on the float.
We had never done that before, so we were up for it.
I am so glad we did. We got to know some of her friends and classmates.
They're all good kids and a lot of fun.
The theme this year for each class was favorite cereal.
Here's some pictures of the work days.

James and Shine.
James is the Vice President for Sophomore Class.
He's a great kid.

Aleya and Shine.
These two are great friends.

The group for the day.
Courtney, Aleya, Shine, James and Britney.

Shine painting the backdrop.
She drew and painted this whole thing by herself.
It was 16 feet x 11 feet big.

The Lucky Charms marshmallows the kids were wearing.

More painting the pot of gold.

An extra marshmallow for the Lucky Charms.
I think they should add these to the cereal.
So cute! Shine did all the art work on the marshmallows.

Courtney..another sweet friend of Shines.

All those pictures were from the work days we had prior to the game night.
Thank you Kevin and Bernadette for allowing us all in your backyard and house.
Shine wanted to have it at your house and you were very generous about all those teenagers, paint and mess being in your house and yard.
Thanks again!!
We love you!!!

Now on to Homecoming Game night 2010!!!!

Hugo and Kameron putting the frame together and attaching the backdrop.
I love the colors.

Kameron playing with the rubber ends of the large clamps.
Love my boy!!

My Shine cheering. She's got her pose on!!

Aleya sat with us for the first part of the game. This is a sign one of the cheer coaches made. Thanks James. Brooklin loved raising it all night.

CoCo ready for some football!!

Shine cheering, center back.
I love to watch her cheer. Looks like fun!

Brooklin being silly.

Shine got a break. After she held CoCo, she had to leave to go and finish cheering.
CoCo fussed when she left.

CoCo sleeping with milk on her chin. haha!

Me and Brooklin.

Hugo and CoCo.

Shine and Coco after JV game.

Finally, the video of their homecoming float. So different than when we were in school. No more driving on the field. Now they make it portable enough to carry caus they cannot have any wheels and not a lot of mess.
Every year though it all comes out very nice.

I hope you don't get sick I think I got a little excited with that music on. haha!

We had such a good time with these kids.
Sophomore's you did a great job!
Shine we are so proud of you for your leadership in the whole float experience.
You were built for leadership!!
We love you and are blessed with the best daughter.
We are so proud of you!!
Keep up the good work!!

Well, we are headed somewhere fun this weekend.
I will try to post some pictures quickly.
Have a great weekend!!

San Francisco Treat!!

Happy 6 month Birthday to our
Coco Adoration Capri!!!

I can't believe 6 months ago today our hearts quadrupled when she was born.
She has been such a light to our lives and our home.
We love you Coco and are so thankful for you to be in our lives.
God blessed us fully with the best children.

We had to go to San Francisco for an appointment last week.
We decided to make it fun for the kids by going somewhere different, than just the usual Pier 39, which we all love.
We were just looking for something different this time.
Hugo has been itching to go to the California Academy of Science Museum.
Once we told the kids, they were so happy.
They love to look at every little thing the museum has to offer.
We went to our appointment then went to the museum.

Brooklin and Kameron in front of the sign before we went inside.

This is a huge flower displayed inside. This is the actual size of the flower.
I thought it was just oversized to show the detail but it wasn't, this was the actual size. Kameron said he read about them in a book, and sure enough he was right. That was the real size of them.
I guess I had so much going on with the kids, that I forgot to take pictures of the names of the exhibits we were seeing. I know, how could that happen?
Well, a long day, 3 little children, and only an hour and a half inside. I guess that could be expected.

Brooklin found Felix the frog. She loved to see him and did have a conversation with him. He was a huge frog. Bigger than in your backyard, well, at least bigger than in my backyard. Thank goodness!

This is just inside the Butterfly garden. Kameron giving me a cheesy grin.
This was a great display. There are circular ramps you walk up inside and it takes you to the top. While you're walking the butterflies just fly all over around your head and land right next to you or even on you.
If fact, when we left this area they had us turn around to check our backs, bags and even ran a big duster type brush under the stroller to make sure there were no critters or butterflies that got stuck on us.
A butterfly is fine but not a critter like this cute little frog on this leaf.
You can barely see the little guy....he's red with blue legs. He's close enough that we could have touched him but we didn't. I was thinking why would he not jump on us? He was cute and very brightly colored.

Brooklin was most impressed with this little Gecko guy. He is so real, he looks fake. He was in a glass case, not out in the open like the others.

I wonder if her name is Charlotte? This was huge. I can't imagine finding that in my laundry room.

This is a huge water snake. I never found his head, which was fine with me.

Brooklin found Mr. Ray's family.
She was so happy to take a picture for Mr. Ray.

This fish was huge...the picture of Brooklin is a little blurry but I used it to show how big this fish was in comparison to her head.

The kids loved to pet the starfish.
Brooklin did try to pick them up and the lady asked her not too, nicely.

Her Eel friends. They are different colors than the Mr. Green Eel.

This is what Hugo is holding Brooklin up to see. Seahorses.

Kameron really liked this big aquarium wall. It was way above your head and lower than your feet, cause there were steps down. Hugo said he read that prior to the museum opening, they had to move this big glass during the night because to transport it there, it took up several lanes on the road.
It is HUGE and it is very thick and in several sheets.
This is a huge white alligator.

The turtle display.

These are just disgusting. Yes, hissing cockroaches.
They are huge!!! They were inside a big glass case and you could still hear them hissing.

Brooklin with the Zebras. I love Zebra print.
I guess I shouldn't say that too loud in a museum huh?

CoCo just enjoying her ride. She was taking in all the sights.
She is very observant and watched everything.
I was hoping a butterfly would have landed on her and I could have got a great picture.

Hugo said,"Look it's Mema!!".

CoCo laughing...I couldn't resist.

Doesn't this display remind you of Night at the Museum?
He sits right inside the front door.
They actually have Night at the Museum there where kids can spend the night. Wouldn't that make a great birthday party?

Brooklin found a friend in the gift store. She helped Brooklin find a prize.
She hung around our family the whole time we were in there.
I didn't think til later, maybe she thought we were going to break something.
This was her prize she got.
She was so excited because she could see things up close.

Hugo and the kids while I took the picture.

Me and the kids while Hugo took the picture.

We did make one last stop before heading home.
We must not go to San Fran without getting a bowl of clam chowder.
It was getting late, so we just drove down to the pier and ran quickly into Fisherman's Grotto and had a quick bowl, then headed home.
It was quite cold and windy there but
when we got home it was still in the 100's.

We had a great day with the family. We missed our Shine. She had cheer practice and could not miss. Kameron was happy to miss the day of school especially for the museum visit.

If you're ever in San Francisco, California Academy of Science Museum is a great stop. The kids really enjoyed it.

Thanks for sharing bits of our day.
Til next Time with T!!!
