ScrapTiffany Blog Hop!!!

Yay!! You made it to the next stop in the Scrap Tiffany Recycled Blog Hop!!!
If you did not start at the beginning, please make sure you do so you don't miss a thing!!!

I decided to create a paper bag mini book with a
few extra recycled items to add.

So, I took the items below and created a cute little mini book.
I had a blast doing it mostly because I got out of my box of normal scrap supplies to create something I wouldn't have otherwise.
That is good for the creative soul.
I love that!

Anyway, here is what I created....

and this is what i used to create it....

How many of these do you have laying around your house??
Too many like me?? I can't even count them all.

Now they are an item in my scrap room.
You cut the handles, fold them about 6-8x's, lay them between two sheets of paper or a paper bag, then iron them until they are meshed together.
Then I painted and inked them to decorate.
It's an amazing texture. You will see the completed plastic sheet further in the post.

Then I took these paper lunch sacks and created the mini book.

These flowers are also made from paper bags,
however, these are the ones you get a the grocery store .
I used these for the flower because they were thicker.
You will notice on the book I left the print showing.

I then used these to decorate the book with. You will see...just make sure you use a can opener that does not leave the sharp edge.

This is what they became.

Again, the front cover...I created these inserts from manila folders.
Cut them and inked them of course.
They insert inside the paper bags.
I attached the can lids to the side as a pull.
I also attached some patterned paper as a
pocket for another picture to slide into.

The piece to the right with the quote on it is the plastic bag page.
There is a close up picture further in this post.

The second pull out page.

In addition to adhesive to hold the binding closed,
I also used twist ties and gaffer tape.

The paper bag rose, I painted and is only attached with this binder clip.
No glue at all holding it together.

A close-up of the plastic bag sheet.

The second plastic bag sheet. Look at that texture.
There are so many uses for this technique.

Again, the front cover.

This was such a fun project. I really enjoyed getting out of my normal scrap supplies to create something completely different.

I will be giving away a nice surprise for the blog hop this weekend.

Sophomore Class Officer!!

My Shine was elected for her Sophomore Class this coming year as
"Commissioner of Spirit".
This means she is in charge of preparing for all the rally's,
set-up, tear-down, help get the crowds excited,
coming up with new ideas, and overall crowd excitement.
Well, and if all else fails, it's a valid reason to be out of class. ha!
Below are some snapshots that I thought really show who she is and her overall personality that will help her in her latest assignment.

This girl is a bit of a fun, crazy kind of girl, that loves to be pampered and dress up like the girls, but can turn around and be a tomboy too. She is really not that high maintenance to feel good about who she really is inside. She really doesn't care what people think of her when she does what she believes is right. That is a quality that many adults don't carry. She loves her family and is the 2nd mom around our house...sometimes she even mother's me, and sometimes I need it.

Each one of those pictures leave a great memory in my mind of my Shine.

Shine I love you very much and I am very proud of you.
You have a good head on your shoulders to make good and right decisions.
You have a great journey of life ahead with great successes.
I know this latest adventure will give you great learning experiences and be a very fun chapter in your life.
Enjoy it and Congratulations to my girl!

Don't forget to join us for the ScrapTiffany Blog Hop tomorrow.
Such great and inspiring ideas will be featured.
Make sure to start at the beginning so you don't miss a thing.

Til tomorrow with T!!!

The A's Last Game of Season!!!

We attended Kameron's final game of the season.
Although, I didn't get to go to a lot of games this season because of the baby and the other kids activities, I so enjoy going to watch him play, hangout with the other proud mom's and watch him interact with his friends/teammates.
Here's a few shots...
in the outfield...

Practicing that swing...

Up for bat...

In the dugout with the boys...
The Morton's came to watch and hang out too.

Shine playing with Brooklin.
Kameron and Mema. We were so glad to have Mema go to a game before she goes back home. We will miss you Mema.
This is what Brooklin chose to do during parts of the game. She found a friend (a boy) who had brought a few Transformers. She played with them in between watching Kameron play.
No girl toys for this little girl.

Well until next season, Soccer or Fall Ball...
that's it for the sports for Kameron anyway.

Don't forget the Blog Hop with Tiffany on June 5...
I will be participating, along with a lot of others.
It's taking something and recycling it to use for a scrapbook something.
I know there will be a lot of creative ideas to use for your own projects.

Baby Coco!!

I was skimming through my blog posts and realized this post was halfway done but I never posted it. It includes some hospital pics of Coco. Some were the hospital photographer and some were just us snapping shots.
Anyway, I know our little Coco is 2 months old now but I thought I would go ahead and post it since its pretty much done.
She has grown so much since these pics.

Shine and her new baby sister.

This is a request of mine to the photographer. I have this same pic of all my kids and wanted to make sure I got one of Addi like this too.
The regular hospital pics look nothing like this now. They are very updated.

Me, Addi, Shine and Hugo in the delivery room.

Shine looking over her little Sis.
Do you see the clock in the background? I might add it was am.

Mema checking out her latest granddaughter.

The nurse checking her over.

She was looking right at me...just moments after birth.

Some of the photos are from the hospital photography. So much nicer than it used to be.
She brought in props and took them at the end of my bed.
She was done in about 15 min.

We love our little Coco.
Our little name Coco originated from our 5 yr old Brooklin. When I first found out I was pregnant she said she wanted to name her Coco.
So that went on for months that she called her that while I carried her in my tummy.
Then about 2 months before she was born we were eating dinner and Brooklin says..
"Mom, I have Coco's middle name" and she whispers in my ear...."Coco Adoration".
At first I laughed then seconds later, my first thought was where did she come up with that kind of word, then my second thought was, I think I like that name. Hugo agreed, so we went home and looked up the meaning and found it in the baby book.
It means "to be adored by all".
We have also since found out it means, "to have an intimate relationship with God".
We always like the name Capri and decided they both sounded great together.
So that's how we came up with her name.
We are proud of it and very thankful that it came from her older sister.

Ok, so there is a post that is overdue.
I guess I got busy in my baby/family days and forgot it was sitting there.
