Happy Birthday Kameron!!!

Today is Kameron's 8th birthday!!
Happy Birthday Kameron!!!

I decided to post some of my favorite pictures of him
doing some of his favorite things.
I couldn't ask for a better son.
He's smart, sweet, well-mannered, loves his family,
has a great time anywhere,
has a tough but soft manner about him, and has a caring heart,
Not to mention that crazy hair, that everyone knows him by, and he has had that since I can remember.

So here are some favs....

His first day of school this year..

Playing soccer...

Baseball...

Hanging with the boys...
An after soccer game, dog pile on Kameron..
Kameron's on the bottom.

A close-up..love that face!!!

One of his favorite people...
Kameron loves his dad and most times acts just like him.
Lord, help us!! Two in one world???

He loves his sisters...he would never tell you that in public though.
It's true, actions are louder than words.

Shooting his bow...

More sister love...
Target shooting while on a hunting trip in TN with Dad and Uncle Rick.

And...his favorite person!!!
Well, just no one tell me if that is incorrect.
Let me just believe it, ok??

Kameron loves to be outdoors..biking, scooter riding, hunting, fishing, running, walking...it doesn't matter.
He loves it and goes out as much as he can.

Last but not least of his favorite things to do is...
of course, playing the guitar..Guitar Hero that is!!!
He loves it, when we all get into guitar playing against each other.
He has picked up this guitar playing personality..(see below).

Yes, mom rocks at Pat Benatar...No one has beat me yet.
Especially when I have on my hot red high heels. haha!

If you see Kameron today..
give him a big hug and kiss and tell him
Happy Birthday!!!
His party will not be today, but we are celebrating it, very soon.
More to come on that exciting party. I can't wait.
Our sweet Baby Coco must wait to visit us until after his party.
I refuse to miss it.

To the best son anyone could ever ask for...
Kameron, Happy Birthday!!!
I love you buddy!!
You're my favorite boy in the world.
Hope you have an amazing day!!
xoxoxo

Winter Formal 2010

Shine had her Winter Formal this weekend. This was her first High School formal. She is a freshman. Although I had a blast with her the entire day, into the next morning, I realized how big she has grown and how many short years left I have with her at home.
These next four years will go by even faster, so I have heard.
Do we really have to "let" them grow and go?
I'm sure if there was a way to make it all stop, there would have been at least one mom out there that would have made it happen by now.

Let me just say, I love this little girl so very much. She is sooo special to me.
We have been through a lot together, when no one else was there.
She means the world to me and I would do anything for her.
Her nickname says it all..."SHINE". She truely does!!

Ok, enough of the mushy stuff...urgh!!!
Here is our great day we we're so blessed to share.

We started with her nail appointment. A must for a girl getting all dressed up.

By that time, we were getting hungry. So we stopped at our favorite Chinese spot to swallow down a teriyaki bowl with rice/veggies.
The perfect lunch when you're in a hurry and need something good to eat. Not too heavy, but filling.
(Sorry, this pic is dark, I didn't take it)

Then we went to pick up her dress from alterations. The top needed a little extra seam to stay in place while she was dancing.
Then we headed to a friends house to borrow a clutch purse. Thanks B!!
I insisted she carry one complete with her phone, money, ID, ticket, and of course, the lip gloss.

Then we headed home for her to start getting ready.

She was not going with a boy this year, as her and her friends think they boys this year, are not ok...they are waiting for a more mature crowd.
Lets face it, boys or girls at 14 are both still trying to figure themselves out.
I am sooo good with that.

So her and her friends decided to go in a group.
This is a great group of girls..
Their heads are on straight and they come from great families.

We invited the girls and their families to come to our house prior to for pictures and the final touches of getting ready.
Here are the three girls...
Mikayla, Shine, Aleya

I love this laughter they have...so happy!!

Shine and Dad...(mom loves this picture)

The 3 of us...
(I never thought I would be doing the Winter formal pictures for my oldest with a prego belly on).

I love this one too...I am framing it for my house.

Sissy and Shine..

Kameron, Shine, and Brooklin...I love my kids.

The girls messing around...

So off we went to dinner...no I didn't go with them. I was told that was not ok. Although that wasn't by Shine, she said us mom's could go, but a close friend told me "Not ok!!"...thx friend, you were right.

So the girls decided to go to Macaroni Grill. Once they got checked in, they had a pretty good wait so we decided to get some individual shots we had forgotten at the house.
As it turned out, the dusk lighting was perfect for the next shots, especially with the tree behind lit up.
I was having so much fun!!!

Here's my Shine...I was so proud of her. She is beautiful!!
I can say that, I'm mom!!! I own bragging rights!! lol!!

A close up shot...

This was a fun one too...the girls all ended up jumping off the bench together.
This was just the practice shot.

The last one of the night...well until the after party.
Me and Shine...I love this picture.

I went shopping while they ate and they called me when they got the bill, so I could go back and pick them up.

We then went straight to the dance, I dropped them off and headed home until the next call to be picked up at 11..

We got home, they changed and we went to my friend's house for the after party..(Thanks Bernadette, the girls had a blast), the girls went into the hot tub and chatted until 3:15. Then we came home and called it a night.

I was very tired but wouldn't have missed it for nothing. It's true she is growing up into a young lady. I will take all your advice you can pass along.
I know the biggest piece I have heard at this point is spend every second you can with her. Cause it goes superfast now.

Shine, I love you my dear!! You are the greatest teenage daughter I could have asked for. I am soooo very proud of you and have every bit of confidence that you will be a success in whatever you do.
I know you will Shine brighter than any other shining star out there.

I love you!!!

"Love" Week

This week's challenge with Scrap Tiffany is "Love".
Perfect timing for the week of Valetine's Day!!

Here is my "Love" layout for this week's challenge.
It's a layout I did of me and Shine.
I took a digi layout class from Little Light Studio with Wilna.
This was our first assignment.

It was a great class and very easy. I am embarking on the digi scrapbooking arena. So far I love it. I definitely love the end result and am learning the how-to's of Photoshop.

Take a look at all the other design team's projects on ScrapTiffany's blog.
Everyone did an amazing job, once again!!!

Hope you all had an amazing love day with your loves!!!

Valentine's Day School Parties

Today being the last school day before Valentine's Day, of course,
it was the kids parties at school.
I made it to Brooklin's but unfortunately, I didn't get to make Kameron's. Due to the time of his party, I had a conflict with picking up Shine and an alterations appointment for her Winter Formal dress...that's is another post for another day very soon.

I did make Brooklin's party and had a blast.
Kinder's are so much fun. Here's some pics of our morning.
(I took a lot more pics of more than just of Brooklin, but
am very careful about posting pictures of other children on the internet,
unless I know the parent doesn't mind).

This is Brooklin with her basket of Valentine goodies for her friends...

She loved giving all her Valentines to her class friends...

Station fun...
"Love Potion" station, "Conversation Hearts Math"(smart teacher, they didn't even know they were doing "math"), color the hearts station, and my favorite, an adorable wearable art project.
You'll see below...So cute!!!

Brooklin has been saying for two weeks..."Mom, you can be my Valentine!"
Of course, I said "Yes."

She's working so hard on her project...

Tada!!! See what I mean...how cute is that?
If you look closely, you can see the arms out to the sides
with little hands attached.
By far, my favorite...the kids wore these outside as the parents picked them up after school, however, I missed that because, I locked my keys in the car just minutes after I left her school after her party. By the time I got to her, she was in the office with her heart sitting by the front desk in a chair..talk about feeling small.
UURRGGHH!!! Again, another story for another day!!!

This is a close-up of Brooklin's Valentine's she passed out to her friends.

Another version...it's a flower with a Blow Pop sucker as the center attached to a small painted, glittered, wood piece, with a ticket stub as a tag with Brooklin's name.
They were very girly. Sorry boys!! Enjoy the sucker!!

Here are the supplies that I used for Brooklin's
Valentine's..

These are little wood pieces I picked up at Michaels for .69 cents.
I poked a hole in the top with my Crop-A-Dile to tie the ribbon through.

A gift for Mrs. Horton...a notebook, note cards, and a fun matching pen.Even though I didn't get to make it to Kameron's party, here's his Valentine's for his friends.
OK, he had rules for me in my creativity.
"What? Rules in my creativity? That's the craziest thing I have ever heard!!!"
"OK, OK..I will listen."
"NO PINK ALLOWED AND NO RIBBBON!!!"
So I thought I was doing pretty good so far...UNTIL.. he noticed the tiny shredded tissue in the bottom of the bag..darn!! How'd he see that?
This was a BIG request, I mean really, after all it's Valentines day and no pink and no ribbon? How do you even do that?
So I chose the phone a friend option...I called in Aunt Sheri!!
She created the bag topper for me from her digi stash...whew!! for me..I was safe, other than the ribbon issue, which I had already purchased some what I thought was "safe" ribbon, but it was still ribbon..so I opted for staples...urgh!!
So here's the finished product!! He liked them and so did I.

We had a great day!! I love having days with my kids like that.
We don't realize how much it means to them.
They love having mom at school, well, at least let me believe that. I know Kinder's do anyway.
Hope you got to spend the day with your kids at school parties.

Speaking of school parties, Shine has her Freshman Winter Formal tomorrow night.
I will be posting pics within the next couple days.
Oh my!! Anyone know a counselor or have something to put me out for the next few years. lol!!
Just kidding!! I am embracing it and it's a whole new learning experience, that I insist on enjoying.

So come back for a visit soon!!

Scrap Tiffany-Week 6-Celebrations

This post is for the challenge this week with Scrap Tiffany.
Yesterday I posted the previous week..Sorry to be so confusing.
Week 6 was on "Celebrations".
It could be anything, birthday, anniversary, wedding, whatever.
So I decided to do a layout on my Shine's 14th birthday party.
We had soooo much fun. Yes, we!! I felt like a kid again.
Here's the layout, then I will post the fun we had...

Close-up of the bottom half of the layout....

Close up of the top half...

Yes, that is a lot of pics on that page but that was also a lot of girls,
a lot of hours, a little trouble(we won't talk about that on here though, just in case the girls moms are visiting here, Hi Mom!!!)
and a whole lot of fun.

We started the night with the girls meeting at our house for pizza(you must have food for an all-nighter), then we left and made the girls go on a scavenger hunt, they had to go to 6 different locations with their adult drivers(I'm not stupid, always more than one, just in case the girls tie the other one up), they had to fight for a seat in one of the cars after running out of the house and throwing their overnight bag in the back, that my friend was crazy.

Once in the car they received their first clue, the driver could not drive off without them figuring out where they were to go(the driver knew the locations, no wild goose chases that night, well not yet anyway). They only had a picture to go on, no words(just in case someone couldn't read, jk!), the first one was a pic of a star and a buck(deer)(if you know me, you know where that is). They had to get their 2 adult drivers their
favorite drink(hey, I'm not stupid, I knew we had a a long night ahead).

That took a few minutes, then they caught on. As the driver drove, the other one had to tell them what their mission was inside the location, then once they got there, the extra driver had to get out with them to take pictures of everything(uh! did you forget one of my fav things is pictures), then we made 5 other stops like that.
Other stops and tasks were...
  • doing a catwalk in high heels at Payless Shoes,
  • putting a pair of PINK thong underwear on their head insideVictoria's Secret long enough to get a pic,
  • Red Robin and tie a balloon to their wrist and take a pic with the hostess,
  • Borders/take a pic of their group reading the children's book,"Where the Wild Things Are"
All stops they were doing something crazy and fun!!
The last stop was Coldstone where we all had ice cream.
Shine got a present that was the zebra hat and tip money for the servers, once she tipped them, they sang Happy Birthday to her and gave her another present.

Inside that present was a hotel brochure, telling them where we were headed next.
So we went to a hotel, where again she got a present from the front desk clerk.
Inside that was her room number and key.

So when we got upstairs the room was completely decorated in zebra/lime green. Balls on the ceiling, balloons on the floor, snacks, candy, girly mags.

She was so surprised...but the big surprise was still to come.
They went swimming, then about 11:00 that night, there was a knock at the door.
Shine opened it and there stood her cousin, Ashley, that she hadn't seen in 6 months because she moved to Nashville from California.
Ashley helped me plan the entire party from 2000 miles away,
then showed up for the party. Love ya, Ash!!

It was so much fun!!!
So then the tears came and the real fun started.
After that, we had a very adventurous night all the way into the morning..
about 5 am in the morning.
This birthday party post will stop here,
due to the nature of the rest of the evening. Hhmm? What happened next you ask?
Well, if you are interested, when I see you in person you can ask and I will tell.
NOTE: To the Mom's of Shine's friends, that entrusted your girls to me....
I promise, there was nothing illegal and no bare skin.
Just lots of fun and more surprises.

Thanks to the drivers, Bethany, Holly, and Bernadette(and me).
Couldn't have done this without you.
Ash, thanks for all your help. You're awesome!!
It was one fun party that all the girls still talk about.
I enjoyed the night with my girl.

Needless to say that page does not have nearly enough pics to tell the story of the
night that lasted all night.
I'm working on a book of the evening to include everything.

So that is my take on the "Celebrations" for this week.
Go to ScrapTiffany to check out the rest of the design team's take on the challenge.
There is some super cute stuff on there.

Sorry for the long post, but I couldn't just leave that layout with just the pics.
Glad you stopped by!!!
